He was a member of the Arcadia Methodist Church and was a farmer who came to Hancock County in 1843.

Mother: Jenetta Myers, born 1847 or October 1848 at Carroll County, Ohio, Married March 16, 1869, died August 27, 1921, Hancock County, buried in Arcadia Cemetary, Arcadia, Ohio She is the daughter of Adam (1804-1877) and Catherine (Binger) Myers. She was born in 1808 and died April 7, 1884. Adam and Catherine were married at Harrison, Ohio in 1828. Both sides of the family were from Maryland and said to be of German descent. Jenetta's brothers and sisters include: Samuel Myers, Solomon Myers, Adam Myers, William Myers, Margaret Peters, Marinda Woods, Katy Troller and Sarah Myers. Jenetta was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Arcadia, Ohio.
