THE LUZADERS

Ethel Mae Luzader was born November 10, 1917 and died April 20, 1995 She is buried in Memory Gardens, Arcadia, Ohio. Her father was Charles Forrest Luzader and her mother was Hazel May Laudy. This is the story of her family.

Luzader family beginnings:

The earliest ancestors descended from Jacob de Louzada.  He was a Shephardic Jew born about 1670 in Spain or Portugal. He died June 12 1729 in New York City. He is buried in Chatham Square Burial grounds. He married Rachel de Almeida in 1693 in Spain. She is the daughter of Abraham de Almeida and Sarah de Almeida. Abraham was born about 1645 and Sarah born about1650. Their daughter Rachel was born in 1675 in Spain and married Jacob de Lousada about 1693 in Spain. She died December 1708 in London, England. After her death Jacob and his two sons came to New York City in 1710 where he became a wealthy chocolate merchant.

They had two sons, Aaron and Moses. Aaron was born May 17, 1695 in the Parish of St. James, Duke Place, London England. Moses was born February 2, 1701 and died in 1750.

Aaron Louzada married Bloeme (Blume) Michael in 1720 or possibly 1740. She is the daughter of Moses Michael and Catherine Hachar Michael. Moses Michael, the son of Asher Michael de Paul and Rebecca Falk was born September 1676 in Harzfeld, Germany and died January 25, 1740 in Curacao Venezuela. Catherine Hachar Michael was born in 1680 in Harzfeld, Germany. Their daughter Bloeme Michael was born about 1700 in Harzfeld, Germany and died December 27, 1764 in Boundbrook, New Jersey. She is buried in Chatham Square Cemetery in New York City.

Aaron and Bloeme Louzada had four children:

Aaron (Louzada) Luzadder II who was born September 20, 1731 in Boundbrook, New Jersey and died April 2, 1834 in Grafton, Taylor County, Virginia.

David Louzada who was born about 1760 and died 1800 in Middlesex County, New Jersey. His wife was Abigail.

Catherine (Kitty) Louzada who was born about 1756 or 1751 and died about 1820. She married Abraham Loxley June 1, 1779..

Sarah Louzada who was born about 1734.

Aaron Louzada II changed his name from Louzada to Luzadder. He was a Sergeant in the Revolutionary War in a New Jersey Regiment from 1776 to 1777 and then in a Pennsylvania Regiment in 1778 to 1783. He was a blacksmith and a farmer. He married Mary Bartley with which he had four children all born in New Jersey: Abraham,  Jacob, Isaac and Edmund. He then married Sarah Cole. She was born April 1, 1756 in Maryland and died March 18, 1838 in Taylor County Virginia (now West Virginia).Sarah Cole his second wife was believed to be an Indian Princess, the daughter of Chief Little Bear of the Creek Indian Nation. They had ten children:

Margaret B Luzadder who was born March 16, 1782 in Pennsylvania. She married John Czigan  December 22, 1801 in Monongalia County Virginia. He was born 1765 in Monongalia County, Virginia.

John Luzadder who was born November 18 1783 in Pennsylvania. He married Nancy Ridea March 26, 1811 in Hiland, Ohio. She was born in 1789

Thomas Luzadder who was born October 3,  1785 in Grafton, Virginia (Now West Virginia), and died in 1821 in Ross County, Ohio. He married Margaret Berry in December 29, 1806 in Grafton, Monongalia, Virginia. She is the daughter of Thomas Berry. She died in 1823.

Aaron Luzadder III who was born April 13, 1787 in Green County, Pennsylvania and died July 27, 1865 in Grafton, Virginia. He married Martha Vincent. He married Ellen ? Luzadder. She was born in 1807.

Rachel Luzadder who was born 1789 in Green County, Pennsylvania and died September 20, 1864 in Taylor County, Virginia

Andrew Luzadder who was born November 23, 1791 in Green County,  Pennsylvania. He married Rebecca Davis February 13, 1812 in Morgantown, West Virginia. He married Polly Bailey in 1837 in Fountain County, Indiana.

Moses Luzadder who was born January 23, 1794 in Virginia and died January 24, 1864 in Taylor County, Virginia. He married Christianna Rogers September 8, 1812 in Monongalia County, Virginia. She was born about 1791 in Maryland and died October 10, 1876 in Christian County, Illinois.

Leah Luzadder who was born in 1796 in Virginia

William Luzadder who was born in 1798 in Virginia

Permelia Luzadder who was born July 19, 1800 in Virginia and died December 22, 1880 in Taylor County, Virginia.

Thomas Luzadder was born on October 3, 1785 in Grafton, Virginia and died in 1821 in Ross County, Ohio. He was the son of Aaron Luzadder II and Sarah Cole Luzadder.

Thomas and Margaret Berry Luzadder had two children:

John Luzadder who was born October 17, 1814. He married Sarah Latta (or Latto)  January 10, 1839 in Seneca County, Ohio. He married Cynthia Dible January 1, 1862.

Thomas Luzadder who was born about 1815 in Ross County, Ohio He married Harriet Luzadder.

John Luzader was born October 17, 1814 in Ross County, Ohio and died October 29. 1902 He is buried at Springville Cemetery, Seneca County, Ohio.

He is the son of Thomas and Margaret (Berry) Luzader of Monongalia, Taylor County, West Virginia.

He married Sarah Latta on January 10, 1839 in Seneca, Ohio. She was born July 21, 1819 to Ephraim and Christiana Mcfadden Latta. Ephriam Latta was born in 1779 and died May 19 1838 in Green Township, Ashland, Ohio. Christiana McFadden Latta was born December 3, 1776 in Maryland and died April 3, 1856 She is buried in Springville Cemetery, Seneca County, Ohio. They are from Bullskin Township, Fayette County,  Pennsylvania. Sarah Latta Luzadder died June 9, 1860 and is buried in Springville Cemetery, Seneca County, Ohio

John and Sarah Latta Luzader had ten children:

Thomas J. Luzader He married Julian McPherson October 11, 1860.

Alonzo Luzader who was born May 9, 1842 and died February 1843.

William Ephraim Luzader (died in the Civil War)

Charles Fremont Luzader who was born October 7, 1854 and died January 1929.

Loweka Luzader who was born February 12, 1863 and died March 22, 1891 and is buried in Springville Cemetery, Seneca County, Ohio

Alvin Dull Luzader

Margaret Ann Luzader who was born March 21, 1849 and died February 1, 1928. She married William Stahl. He was born July 22, 1849 and died November 1926. He is the son of Samuel Stahl and Sarah Putnam.

Mary Jane Luzader

John Franklin Luzader who was born October 17, 1814 and died October 23, 1902 and is buried in Springville Cemetery, Seneca County, Ohio.

Sara Rachel Luzader who died June 9, 1860, burial at Springville Cemetery

After the death of his first wife Sarah he married Cynthia Dible on January 1, 1862.  She was born June 10, 1838 and died December 14, 1902. She is buried in Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey, Ohio She is the daughter of Frederick and Frederica Dible

John and Cynthia Dible Luzadder had two children:

Walter Dible Luzader who was born in 1860 and died in 1934 He is buried in Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey, Ohio

Etta Viola Luzader who was born in 1864 and died in 1946 She is buried in Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey, Ohio

Charles Fremont Luzader was born October 7, 1854 in Big Spring Township and died  January 1929. He is buried in Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey, Ohio

He married  Mary Elizabeth Greer on September 17, 1877 in Seneca County. She was born April 4, 1854. She is the daughter of  Adam R and Catherine (Rial) Greer of Washington County, Pennsylvania.

Charles Fremont Luzader and Mary Elizabeth Greer Luzader had seven children:

Charles Forrest Luzader  who was born February 5, 1880 in Wyandot County and died March 16, 1966, at St. Francis of Oak Ridge Hospital in Green Springs, Ohio. He is buried in Memory Gardens, Arcadia, Ohio.

Viola Luzader who was born January 27, 1877 and died May 7, 1964 She is buried  in Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey, Ohio. She married Colonel Class in 1897. He died in 1957.

Myrtle May Luzader who was born February 19, 1885 and died June 16, 1975 She is buried at Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey, Ohio She married Charles F. Bish. He was born November 10, 1910 and died April 15, 1975. He is buried in Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey, Ohio

William E.Luzader who was born about 1888

Harrison O Luzader who was born August 19, 1890 and died January 7, 1929. He was a farmer and died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.. He married Loueva Herbert on October 15, 1914. They had two children. She was born August 2, 1889 in Seneca County, Ohio to Jacob Andrew Herbert, Jr and Alvada Smith. Loueva Herbert Luzader died in 1961.

Anne E Luzader who was born about 1894

Ada L. Luzader who was born October 4, 1896 in Big Springs Township, Ohio. She  married ? Bigelow He died December 27, 1974 and is buried in Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey, Ohio

Charles Forrest Luzader married Hazel May Laudy in 1913. She was born September 30, 1892 and died March 1, 1983 She is buried in Memory Gardens, Arcadia, Ohio. She is the step-daughter of Charles C. Clemons and daughter of Laura (Stultz) Clemons. She has a half-brother Charles K. Clemons who was born March 10, 1902. He married Zelma Clark August 5, 1930.

Hazel May's other spouses include: ? Brentlinger, George Compton and Raymond Byrd.

Charles Forrest and Hazel May Luzader had two children:

Ethel Mae Luzader who was born November 10, 1917 and died April 20, 1995. She is buried in Memory Gardens in Arcadia, Ohio.

She married Arthur Clayton Ebersole in November 1937. He is the son of Herbert H. Ebersole and Jennie May Newhouse. He was born January 23, 1908 at Washington Township, Hancock County, Ohio. He died June 16, 1996 in Findlay, Hancock County, Ohio and is buried at Memory Gardens in Arcadia, Ohio.

Arthur Clayton and Ethel Mae Ebersole had two children:

Janniece M. Ebersole who was born January 31, 1939 and died at birth. She is buried in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria, Ohio She was a twin.

Janet Kay Ebersole who was born January 31, 1939 at Fostoria, Ohio. She married David E. Weiler August 9, 1969 at Fostoria, Ohio. He is the son of Carl and Ethel Weiler of Cleveland, Ohio.

George Luzader who was born September 6, 1913 and died April 1967. He married Helen Luzader.

George and Helen Luzader had a son:

Donald Eugene Luzader who was born June 6, 1939.
