Inroads- A national career development organization that places and develops talented minority student (African American, Hispanic American, and Native American) in business and industry. National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering- An organization that aims to increase the number of minorities who earn bachelor's degrees in engineering by offering an Incentive Grants Program, Summer Engineering Employment Project, field services, and publications for parents and students. National Association For The Advancement Of Colored People-(NAACP)- The purpose of the NAACP is to improve the political, educational, social, and economic status of minority groups; to eliminate racial prejudice; to keep the public aware tof the adverse effects of racial discrimination; and to take lawful action to secure its elimination, consistent with the efforts of the national organization. The National Urban League- The Education and Youth Services Department of the Urban League provides services for African Americans and economically disadvantaged people. These services include basic academic development, GED test preparation for youths and adults, after-school tutoring for children, parent training classes, scholarships, an annual tour of historically black colleges and universities, and summer employment for youths. United Negro College Fund (UNCF)- The UNCF provides scholarships for undergraduates who attend one of forty private, historically black colleges. Minority Scholarships- This is a searchable database of scholarships for minority students. Scholarship opportunities for minority students- This site is advertised as listing scholarship opportunities for minority students, but also includes many ethnic groups as well as scholarships aimed at specific areas of study. |
