Dave and I were members of Delta Tau Delta. Dave was a great person who brought joy to many people while attending Western Kentucky University. I always admired Dave's drive to travel and see the world around him. I am sorry to hear of this great loss nd wish nothing but the best for Dave's family and others who loved him.

I had the pleasure of having Dave as a pledge, while I served as educator for the fraternity. Even though I had lost touch after graduating, I can still remember his loyal friendship, warm personality and individuality. I remember Dave as his own person He didn't follow, yet he was there if he was needed. I am sure that you as his family will miss him more than I could ever imagine and though it is late. I send my deepest sympathy. I got married on the 17th and heard the news much later. To be honest I haven't had much time to reflect on the situation, but this site has really put Dave's passing into perspective for me. You raised a great man and I'm sure you know he will be missed by many. God bless you all! Sincerely, Jeremy V. Dahmer #364

I'm so sorry to hear of your son's death. I am a friend of Dana Clemons. She and I met and were roommates at the dorm our first year of UK. I heard a lot about Dave and your family from her and she and I visited him a couple of times while we were in s hool together. I wish there was something I could say or do to ease your pain, but I know this is not the case. You will be in my thoughts and I hope that you are able to heal in time. Once again, I'm so sorry for your loss. Sincerely, Jenny Hager

Dave was my friend and Fraternity brother. Dave and I shared the same major, which gave me an opportunity to know Dave even after college as we entered our Professional careers. He will be dearly missed. The thoughts and prayers of myself and the Fraternity go out to Dave's Family. We have lost a very good man.

It's September 3,2000 I just recently learned of Dave's passing a few short days ago being so close to Leitchfield at Fort Knox but all to often it's like I'm on another planet cut off from all outside contact due to training. Dave and I weren't best friends but we had some funny moments together we used to joke about how much older he was compared to me, the few hours that separated us in age. In many ways I'm glad I wasn't at his funeral cause the last memory i have of him was at our class reunion we had in 98 at Dr. and Mrs. Payne's house he was in high spirits laughing and joking he was being Dave and that's how I'll remember him smiling ,laughing...living rest in peace my fallen friend. For in my heart and my memory you will always be smiling!

Dave always knew how to make every second count. He was always great at making the little things in life interesting. I am not sure what I will miss more; his Sean Connery impression, His B.LT diets last summer, his crush on Elaine from Seinfield, the ay he thumped his visor every time he met a car with one headlight, And finally the way he picked up every heads-up penny, and put it in a small wooden box to someday give to his kids as a reward because they would be "lucky" pennies. He touched many of our lives, and we all miss him very much.

Dear Mr and Mrs. Wooden, I had the privilege of sitting next to your son in class for 3 quarters at TAAC. In that time I got to know Dave very well. I have to tell you that he was one of the neatest people I ever met. I remember sitting in class and we always seem to end up talking about movies or he would always bring a paper to class and we all read it during class or at break. I had only been to his house about 5 or 6 times even though he never hesitate to invite me over to hang out or go to the beach. I sure wish I would have gone over and hung out with him more, because every time I went over the we had a good time. I just wanted to tell you that he is missed by everyone that he met here. I hope that i will

We will forever have fond memories of Davey in our hearts. He could always light up a room with his smile. We will always remember him as being just the right mix of adventurous and mischievous. In his short time here on earth he certainly touched so many people with his outgoing personality. We feel that the following quote sums up how Davey lived his life. "Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail." Davey will always be loved and missed by all those who were ortunate enough for him to leave a trail in their hearts. Love, Steve, Kathy, Kristin & Chancellor

I had the pleasure of having Dave in my classroom, and was shocked and disheartened at the news of his passing. He was a bright, beaming and energetic student who showed great promise in becoming a star in this industry. And I will think of him when I see shining star twinkling in the night sky, and wish him well.

Dave was such a wonderful guy. It's hard to believe that he is no longer present on this earth. I hadn't seen Davey since college, but I knew he was out there. Now, while doing the most insignificant tasks, it hits me that he is no longer here and the feeling is unbearable. But I know he is in a much better place with Dianna and he will live forever in the hearts and minds of all of us. His life was short, but sweet for sure.

I honestly still can't believe our Davey is gone. One of our aunts made the remark that the Kennedy's had John, Jr and we had Davey. How true is that. Davey too had every gift but the length of years. I am so thankful though for the time we had with him. rowing up he was the big brother I never had. Always ready to play or get into some type of mischief. Whatever Davey did, I would do. I thought he hung the moon just for me. As we grew older we kinda grew apart some, but we still kept in touch. This summer I was planning on going out to California to visit him. He was always telling me that I needed to be more independent. How fitting that in the end, I having never flown before, hopped on a plane with someone I hadn't seen in 7 years, so that I migh be with Davey, Aunt Donna, and Uncle David, during his final hours. He finally made me step out and become a little independent. I think he would have been proud. When I think about Davey's interesting and yet too short life, I try not to cry because thi part of his adventure is over, but instead I find comfort in smiling because it happened.

No matter how hard I try I still don't believe he's gone. Dave meant the world to me as a best friend, a brother, and one of the most funny, genuine people I've ever known. We had so many good times together that I will treasure for the rest of my life. From the Mexico mess, to the Memphis excursion -- the memories of how he touched my life will live on forever. There really isn't a song or movie that won't remind me of him. I'm glad he's my guardian angel now. Mr. and Mrs. Wooden, you're in my thought and prayers every day. Please know that your son was a wonderful person to a lot of people and will be greatly missed until we're all together again!

It had been several years since I had seen Davey. I remember how Davey, Diana and I would play together when we were little. It hasn't really hit home for me fully that Dave is gone. It doesn't make sense, really, when such a gifted person passes away so young. Although we had lost touch over the years, Dave helped me to have confidence and self-respect at a very awkward time i my life. I will always remember him fondly. He and all of his family are in our prayers up here in Pennsylvania.
