| Sabé is Queen Amidala's decoy and best friend. She is the one who invented those strange cod phrases and gestures the handmaidens use to communicate in secret. For example, the sentence "We Are Brave, Your Highness" incredibly means "I want to go to Coruscant". She is a warmful girl, a real friend to all the handmaidens. A lot of people (including, bizzarely, producer Rick MacCallum!), think that Sabé was portrayed by Natalie Portman, but Keira Knightley plays this beautiful and brave handmaiden. Casting director Robin Gurland chose her for her resemblance to Natalie, which you can see in this picture: |

This the official description: Sabé is the most important of Queen Amidala's royal retinue of handmaidens. During crisis situations, Sabé and Amidala switch roles. Sabé becomes a decoy, disguised as the Queen, while Amidala adopts a simple gown of a handmaiden, and goes by her less formal name of Padmé Naberrie. When in this role, Sabé and Padmé secretly communicate with subtle signals as to not divulge their true identities. During the Trade Federation invasion of Naboo, Sabé posed as the Queen on several occasions. |

| The Queen of Naboo is captured by the Trade Federation, who wants to force her to sign a treaty, that will make legal their invasion. They don't know, and so do we, although we had not already seen this film, that the beautiful girl wearing the Royal Gown isn't the real Queen Amidala, but her decoy, Sabé. |
