A Marriageable Young Girl
Jeanne Lerouge
(1626-1696)
Jeanne Lerouge was born about 1626 in Joinville, St-Dizier, Chalons, Champagne, France; the daughter of Pierre Lerouge and Marguerite Joly.  She arrived in the Quebec Colony as a Filles A Marier, contracted to be the bride of Louis Carreau.  They were married April 30, 1654 in Ville De Quebec.

Louis was born in 1620 at Bordeaux, Guyenne, France; the son of Andre Carreau and Jacquette Caussade.  He and Jeanne would have eight children.  Louis died on May 27, 1693 in Hotel Dieu, Quebec City; and Jeanne followed on March 09, 1696 in L'Ange-Gardien.
The Next Generation
Marie Carreau - Was born on March 20, 1655 in Ville De Quebec and died on February 10, 1722 in the Parish of St. Jean, Ile De Orleans.  She married Emery-Mederic Blouin and the couple had thirteen children.

Louis Carreau - Was born on December 05, 1656 in Ville De Quebec but died a few weeks later on January 11, 1657.

Jean Carreau - Was born on December 26, 1657 but died soon after on January 06, 1658.

Jeanne Carreau - Was born on January 25, 1659 in Ville De Quebec and died unknown in the Parish of St. Jean.  She married Jean Catelan.

Marguerite Carreau - Was born on December 16, 1661 in Ville De Quebec and died on October 15, 1737 in Beauport.  She was first married to Metis, Louis Prevost; but when he died she married Mathieu Tessier and had nine children.

Louise Carrieau - Was born on April 17, 1664 in Ville De Quebec and died in 1708 in Chateau-Richer.  She married Francois Garneau and the couple had nine children.

Joseph Carreau - Was born in 1667 in Chateau-Richer and died unknown in L'Ange-Gardien.  He married Barbe Letarte and the couple had nine children.

Marie-Jeanne Carreau - Was born on January 30, 1670 and died two weeks later on February 15, 1670; at L'Ange-Gardien.
