A Marriageable Young Girl
Marie-Madeleine Doucet
(1648-1697)
Marie-Madeleine Doucet was born about 1648 in the Parish of St-Sauveur, La Rochelle, Aunis, France; the daughter of David Doucet and Louise Melon.  She arrived in the Quebec Colony as a Filles A Marier, contracted to be the bride of Pierre Aigron Lamothe.  They were married January 18, 1662 in Ville De Quebec.

Pierre was born on November 01, 1630 at St. Etienne D'Estree, La Rochelle, Aunis, France; the son of Pierre Lamothe Sr. and Marie Daguine.  He and Marie-Madeleine would have five children before the family returned to France, where Pierre died in 1686.  Marie-Madeleine would then marry Yvon Richard in La Rochelle, and they settled in Kebec where she died on December 20, 1697.  Yvon followed on April 12, 1726.
The Next Generation
Nicolas Lamothe - Was born on May 27, 1665 in Ville De Quebec and died unknown in La Rochelle.  He married Marie Bouffard.

Marie-Madeleine Lamothe - Was born on February 21, 1670 in Ville De Quebec and died before 1688 in La Rochelle.

Gabriel Lamothe - Was born on December 01, 1672 in Ville De Quebec and died unknown in La Rochelle.

Marie-Louise Lamothe - Was born in 1675 and died unknown in Ville De Quebec.  She married Pierre Laville Rocan and the couple had at least two children.

Charles Lamothe - Was born on October 19, 1677 in Ville De Quebec and died unknown in La Rochelle.
