| A tough-tackling, no-nonsense defender, Laurence helped shore up the defence in the second half of the 2002-03 season. Laurence fancies himself in more ways than one, as his "shots" from 40 yards (ending up by the corner flag) show - hence the name 'Eeyore' on his back. A definite Angel for years to come, Laurence's next challenge in life is to learn to handle his drink. In 2003-04 Laurence steppped into midfield for the Angels. Becoming Co-Captain of AWDFFC in May 2004 was one of the proudest moments of Tonkin's life, and he has the 3rd most number of appearances for the team. Now he has taken control of the midfield in his last season for the club - every minute of every game he will strain every sinew to take Angels to their first league title. |
