Turbo! Biography:
One late night, at a party, The Mad Dog burst out that North Reading needed an '80s pop metal band, a group of misfits that would be the loudest band the town had ever heard. That night Turbo! was born. He had been trying to put together such a band now for two years! For some strange reason, several people jumped at the idea. The Mad Dog would play bass, Johnny Dangerously offered his vocal talents,  and Ty Vasapoli and Reggie Pawle would play co-lead guitars. A first rehearsal was quickly scheduled, but Mad Dog wouldn't be able to make this jam session due to his national tuba tour, however. Strangely enough, 4 guitarists showed up for what was to be this band. Afterwards, Ty left as it was too much of a commitment to his other band at the time, West Entrance. The Mad Dog, disgusted that so many people thought they were Turbo!'s guitarists, disbanded the group when he returned, claiming guitar duties soley for himself. A bassist, Jen I'Talia, was hired on, as was Jumbo Stixx on drums. They played their first show together on July 3, 2001, debuting at a punk rock benefit concert for a skate park as the 6th band (out of 7) on the bill. Not bad for the band's first show! They were almost headliners, until the last band did finally show up. But, something strange happened at this punk convention: the kids were actually getting into the heavy music! Where will it go from here? Only time will tell...
