With the loss of Dale Earnhardt, it becomes more important that we look at the safety side of our sport, no matter what level that we race at. His style (hard charging & door banging) reflects the kind of racing that we do. He was a hero to many and I am sure that he is why many of us race.
Safety First!

Comments by Tim Weaver
In this article, I will discuss some of the safety side of racing. Why Safety First? No one is making a living out of Enduro Racing or any kind of local short track racing. We all have families and loved ones. And, we all have 8 to 5 jobs to go back on to on Monday after raceday.  We race Enduro's because it is an afforable, entry level of racing. Safety sometimes conflicts with costs. You can't  just say,  "I can't afford that" or "Nothing bad is going today". Because you never know when your going to need this stuff. The odds of getting hurt  Enduro Racing are low. But, Safety should always be your first priority, everytime you get into your racecar.
I think that every safety item that is discussed in this article, applies to all types of entry level racing. So where you see Enduro, chances are you could replace that name with Econo Stock, Street Stock, Factory Stock, Bomber,  etc.. And that safety item would apply to your racecar. Remember, your Safety First!
