Clayton stepped into the courtroom and sat down all the way in the back.
Inconspicuously, he hoped. He raised his eyebrows as he saw who was
presiding. Harm called out an objection to one of Sturgis' questions.
Clay nodded to himself. He wasn't a lawyer, but he had a feeling a
"sustained" would be called back. Instead, Mac overruled Harm's
objection.

"You've got to be kidding!"

Clay grinned and waited for Mac's answer. In a flash, Harm remembered who Mac was.

"Your honor..."

Clay smirked, and his cell phone buzzed in his coat pocket. He got up quickly,
and headed out into the hallway.

His phone call taken care of, Clay went back in, mostly to watch Harm and
Mac going at it.

"Objection!"

"Overruled!"

Sturgis started badgering the witness a bit.

"Objection, your honor! The prosecution is badgering the
witness," from Harm.

"Overruled!" from Mac.

Clay didn't get it. Sturgis started to push harder.

"Now that's badgering the witness!" Harm shot out
of his seat. "Overruled, Commander!" Mac glared at Harm. Harm sat back down,
furious.

Clay stood up and slipped out, again, trying desperately to hold back his laughter.

Clay had been to all the proceedings of the trial. Surprisingly, nobody
had even noticed he was there. When the trial was over, Clay overheard
Mac invite Harm and Sturgis to dinner. He couldn't catch what Sturgis
then said, but Mac and Harm stared at him, emphatically saying "no". Clay
slipped around a corner, laughing to himself.

Clay managed to follow them to the restaurant. Watching through the
window, he waited about twenty minutes before going in. Good thing it was
a really nice restaurant, Clay would have looked out of place in his
suit. The headwaiter showed him to a small, empty table, not too far from
the JAG lawyers. He ignored them until his order of shrimp came. As he
looked up to thank the waiter, he "noticed" Harm, Mac, and Sturgis. Just
the opening he had been waiting for, Harm stood up to see what Webb was
doing there.

"What are you doing here, Webb?"

"What, am I not allowed to eat here?" Harm shrugged, sitting down.

"I like the shrimp they have."

Clay popped one in his mouth, to prove his point. Inwardly, he gagged.
Horrible... Clay made a mental note to himself never to come here
again... Mac called to Harm, and waved for him to come over. She and
Sturgis were getting ready to leave. Harm shook his head, and nodded
slightly in Webb's direction. Mac shrugged and left, Sturgis trailing
behind her. Webb finished his shrimp, and wiped his mouth on a napkin.

"I heard about your latest case..." Harm looked at Clay irritatedly. Clay
smiled.

"I heard the presiding judge was a little tough?" he raised an
eyebrow.

"Not at all," Harm replied nonchalantly. A waiter left Clay his
check. Clay smiled wider.

"They're saying you won anyway." Harm didn't answer him. Clay stood up, leaving
a five dollar bill on the table.

"Well, congratulations, Harm. You put up a good fight." Clay paid his
bill quickly, and drove off before Harm could recover from the
compliment. Harm frowned. Why Webb always acted so strangely, Harm
wouldn't be able to tell in a million years. And the fact that Webb
always seemed to know everything that was going on was a little
frightening sometimes... Harm sighed, and left.
