Dr Qiu Jianhai BEng PhD CEng MIM MICorr

Dr Qiu is an Associate Professor in Corrosion Science and Engineering, at the School of Materials Engineering, Nanyang Technological University.

Dr Qiu has over 20 years industrial, research, teaching, and consulting experience in the field of corrosion and materials engineering. He has developed more than a dozen of corrosion-related short courses and regularly conducted these courses for practicing engineers. Dr Qiu has been working closely with both local and regional industries and has been an active consultant to governmental agencies, multinational companies and private organizations on corrosion and materials related issues such condition assessment, process optimization, quality control, corrosion testing and monitoring, life predictions, trouble-shooting and corrosion failure analysis. Dr. Qiu is also experienced in providing expert witness and assistance in litigation and arbitration matters related to corrosion and materials. He has authored about 120 technical papers and reports.  He is included in the 7th edition of Marquis Who's Who in Science and Engineering.

Dr Qiu is a Chartered Engineer registered with the Engineering Council (UK), a Senior Corrosion Technologist certified by NACE International (National Association of Corrosion Engineers, USA). He is a professional member of both the Institute of Corrosion (UK) and the Institute of Materials (UK). Dr Qiu is the Vice-Chairman of the Corrosion Association of Singapore, and the Singapore representative in the International Corrosion Council (ICC).
