During the winter months, a quilt unit is just right to make you feel cozy inside and out.  Quilts are also a wonderful way to study social studies.  During the month of February, my class and I took a trip back in time to revisit the days of handmade quilts. We are even working on creating our own quilt.

One of my main resources for this unit was a primary theme study "Quilts" for grades K-2 made my Teacher Created Materials.  This book is availible at any teacher supply store and sells for $10.  The book has good reproducible activities and lessons on three specific quilt books.

Below are lists of links to assist you in planning a quilt unit.  I am also including a book list for you to utilize during your quilt unit.  Happy Quilting!
