Grandparent's Day

In a grandparent's day, values were more positive as opposed to the

negative values we see today.  Therefore, as grandparents we have the

responsibility of being the ones to show our grandchildren the positive

     side of having values and moral standards, if

there is going to be hope for the children of the future.

Grandparents should provide a little vacation home for grandchildren

so they can have a little respite from siblings from time to time.  It would

also be a time when they could get all the attention and feel really special.

I have a spiritual basis for the standards I live by and I pass them on to my children

and want to help them teach theirs.  Children don't put up the defense with

Grandparents as with parents, so grandparents have a little more leadway.

to get the message across.  That is all the more reason we should have a personal

relationship with each child.  In most cases, this time is limited, so we need to

watch T.V. the whole time, or be outside playing all the time while you are

inside.  Spend time with the child doing things like working in the flowers

or baking cookies.  These afford us the time to teach values.  Parents are often

confused by all the love and devotion we have with the grands than we did

with them.  Well we have did our life’s work and we have this time that is

set aside for us to be grandparents.  So please take advantage of it and use it to

benefit our children of tomorrow.  Don't let the grandchildren down by

robbing them of our precious, positive values.
