            the Quapaws, numbered about 1,000
    3.  Mid Western Oklahoma lived the Wichitas
         and Caddos
    4.  Comanches and the Kiowas moved into a vast
territory of the the southern plains including
        Oklahoma

Eastern U.S. tribes would take hunting parties
                    to Oklahoma
    1. Pushmataha, the famous Choctaw chief, led a
band of warriors and fought the Osages in 1807
    2. The Bowl, led a group of Cherokees to settle
along the Arkansas Rivers in Arkansas
    3. Battle of Claremore Mound was a fierce battle

American settlers in Oklahoma asked for protection
from the Indian Wars so Fort Smith was built.
