Final Apology

Why do I stay in this relationship? There is no love involved anymore. You have crushed it. You have successfully killed any spirit I ever had.

How you ask.

You've always been an accusing, distrusting person. If I talk to someone, I am cheating on you, be it a man or woman, you didn't care.

When I do get upset enough to fight back and say something, you call me a fuck up and commence swearing at me and getting pissed because you aren't going to get laid tonight. Well, I hate to say it, but I don't care if you ever get laid again.

I've known you for years now and in that time you have driven away every member of my family and every friend I've ever had.

I have tried everything I could think of to make you happy but, I finally have come to the conclusion that "I" can't make you happy.

In your eyes I am a lousy musician, lover and all around person so I won't be a bother for you anymore. I am leaving you tonight in the only way that I know you can't follow and guilt trip me into returning.

I gave you everything I had and you took that love, caring and my heart and soul. You took these things and destroyed them all.

The only thing I have left is the pain of loving someone so much that it killed me.

Don't worry, you won't have to take care of anything. All the small details have been arranged. You can just move on to the next poor victim.

I'm sorry I was such a lousy person. Hopefully, someday, you will be able to find someone who could love you and be the person you want them to be.

Yours Always and Forever,
Joshua Scott Chasez

Lance and Joey both glared at Chris as Justin read those final words.

The tears flowed from Justin's eyes, "How could you?" was all he said.

Lance moved to Justin's side and attempted to remove him from the side of the bed.

"I didn't believe that a person could actually die of a broken heart, guess I was wrong." Joey rasped.

Justin just knelt next to the bed. None of the words the others said having even been heard.

Three days later the four men were standing next to the grave of the man they once knew and all had loved.

Joey turned an angered stared towards Chris, "Why are you even here? By his words in that letter it's obvious you didn't want him in your life."

Lance and Justin both watched as the larger man ranted at the shorter man.

"It wasn't me," Chris whispered.

"What? He's dead because of you and now you want us to believe it wasn't because of you? How dare you…"

"It wasn't his fault Joey." A fifth voice states.

"You? What…" Lance stammers.

"Why are "you" here?" Justin questions.

"Because, I'm the one that caused this. It wasn't Chris' fault and I couldn't allow you to think that it was. It's the least I could do for someone who gave me so much." The intruder left without another word leaving the four remaining friends to help each other move on with their lives without the one person who gave them all more than any of them had ever known.

As the friends walked away from the grave the sky opened and rain began to pour down.

"Goodbye Josh, I'm sorry." The stranger stated as he watched Justin get in the car and the four friends leave.
