Welcome to the Second Edition of our Newsgroup Newsletter. Our Focus is Page Builder Help, and our Message is Positive. Hopefully this will serve to re-cap our Newsgroup Highlights, build community spirit and solve world hunger. Or at least be informative and enjoyable. Everyone is welcome to submit, and everyone is welcome to subscribe .This Newsletter will be published on a monthly basis and is a group project (that means I am too lazy to list everyone's name). It also means I did a lot of cut and paste, and each persons submission was written by them.
Our newsgroups' focus remains Page Builder Help. That means that if you see a birthday listing that you should send birthday wishes through private e-mail. But if you have a question about a Page Builder specific item, then, please, by all means, post it in our newsgroup:

Free Dot Coms
Page Builders can now have their very own dot.com's - at no cost! Namezero will register the name of your choice and pay the registration fee. You own the name. You enter your Page Builder site into their frame. The catch? They have an advertisement, of course, in the frame. Your site remains at Page Builder. You can edit it whenever you want. You can give out your Page Builder address or your new Dot.com address. Since it's free and you give up nothing, I say: what are you waiting for?
- Goto: http://www.NameZero.com
- Click on the "Sign Up" button (top right)
- Fill in your name, address, phone, and the dot.com name you want.
- Press the "submit" button.
- You will see: You have successfully signed up.
- Go to your e-mail box.
- You will need to click on a link in an e-mail you receive to confirm your registration.
- Click on: Yes, I accept.
- In about a day you will receive your Congratulations e-mail, along with your password.
- Go to your new address. example: http://www.JamaicanCandy.com (Richard and I just had to!)
- Go all the way down the bottom. Click on "Control Panel."
- Type in your Domain name and Password, then press: "Enter."
- You will see "Home Channel." Click on "Change" (They refer to your Page Builder page as a Channel).
- Fill in the title of your page, some keywords, a description of your page and your Page Builder URL (address).
- Click on "Change."
- It's a Done Deal! Hit your goto key, type in your Domain name and see your Page Builder Page in a whole new light! (If you are seeing the old sign in page, all you need to do is reload.)

Vicki's Gif(t)s
Breathes there a webber with soul so dead, who doesn't love gifs? Gifs and jpg's and icons and logos -- we can't get enough of 'em. Everyone has their favorite site for gifs, like Draac's, Patrick's, and, of course, Lady Oh. I thought I would share a few of my favorites with you. Who knows? Maybe some of them are new to you or maybe they've slipped your mind. For example, have you been to Beard Bros Animated Gifs? If you have, you probably love it, too. Hundreds of gifs, with menus that make it a breeze to navigate the site. Two sites I've recently discovered are Squeege World and Magic's Gif Gallery. Beautiful backgrounds, some of the nicest I've seen, as well as stunning gifs. How about Koffee's Gif Shop? Have you seen that one? Bogie's House of Gifs, Big Daddy's Gifs to Go, Hrtogld's Gifs and Antonio's Gifs FKey Saver are among the very best. Want specialty gifs and backgrounds? Try Barry's Nautical Clip Art, Rastafaria's Poster Art and Sounds, Patriotic Gifs and Beth's Mickey Mouse gifs. The Mickeys have a built-in uploader. Webtastics just won Tripod's Super Site award, and if you look at his gifs page, you'll see one of the reasons why. Don't pass on those kids' gifs sites, either; some of them have wonderful stuff for all pages. Check out Gicky's Gifs and Katy's Kids Korner. Most, if not all, of these sites have links to other gif sites and if you still can't find what you're looking for, try this Image Search Engine. Has Anybody Seen My Dancing Chicken?
Of course, I don't have to tell you that linking is immoral, illegal, and fattening, not to mention bandwidth theft, do I? Several people have lost their sites on Geocities because WebTVer's were linking to their images on Pagebuilder pages or in email. Besides, it can really mess up your pages when the server breaks the links or if the page with the linked images is deleted. When I was new to WebTV, I woke up one morning to find black boxes where my dancing chickens once were. Boy, I learned my lesson! There are many scrapbook uploaders that are very simple to use, and I'm sure you've come across several of them. The best one for uploading any size image is Beth's Scrapbook Uploader. Webscissors is a breeze to use when you want to upload an image from a webpage. (Just be sure you're not using someone's copyrighted work without permission.)
I hope you find something you can use in some of the sites I've recommended and I hope you take my advice and upload them. (That goes for Draac's site and other sites that give you permission, no matter what you may read in one of the newsgroups.) If uploading is still a sticky problem for you, Miski1 has a great tutorial on uploading; read it and 'save' it in favorites for future reference. If you have a problem with your pages loading too slow, read Beth's The Long Long Trailer. You may be surprised at how easy it is to resize images without affecting their appearance. Oh, and here's one more gif site for you. It's small (two pages), and just links, but it's mine and this is my article, so I figured I'd give myself a plug: JUST GIFS- Vicki
