I'm Deb and I got my first dog 15 years ago , a lab mix from the shelter, Duke. He was the first dog that I ever took to obedience class or did any training on. I really enjoyed obedience classes and knew some day I would like to compete. Duke went to the rainbow bridge at 4 years old, it broke my heart. I then rescued 2 more dogs from the shelter, an older lab mix, Champ, and a lab puppy named Sparky. I did obedience with Sparky and he was the first dog that I ever titled in anything, he and I acheved our CD which was quite an accomplishment because he hated obedience, he was also my first agility dog and my first flyball dog. We went on to do many good things in agility, we got our AKC OA and OAJ and our novice superior titles in NADAC. He also got an ONYX in flyball, before we could finish all we would have liked to have done, Sparky tore his cruciates and was no longer able to compete.. In the summer of 2000, I got my first border collie, Sadie. Sadie started in agility and flyball right away and then we started in obedience. We have done AKC, UKC and ASCA obedience, getting all 3 CD's and CDX's. We are now working together to learn utility. Sadie has also done well in agility and flyball, earning all of her nov. superior titles in NADAC as well as open titles, except weavers, still working at that and we are working on our AX and AXJ in AKC. She also has her FMX in flyball. I was then bitten by the herding bug and have since acquired a couple of border collies that I now do herding with. Indi is a little girl who is out of working and show lines, she and I are learning herding together and we hope to start trialing this year, we did get our PT last year. I also discovered conformation with Indi, she is the first Ch that I have had. I showed her some as well as someone else showing her some for me. Indi and I are also starting in agility and obedience as well, we hope to do many good things this year. I also acquired a male border collie out of some strong working lines, Flash, that I have sent for training in hopes that I can learn how to run a dog in the border collie trials. I also have a young girl that I acquired from Kelly Whiteman that has finished her Ch already and we are just starting to train in different things. I plan on breeding Indi this spring and this will be my first litter, with mentoring from Ronni DeLay who owns LittleMan, the dog I want to breed Indi to. |
