The Battle of Prayer
Before we arrive into this world, through the action of our parents, God 'holds' the 'tiny' soul in His 'hands', and said, "Go into the world, my child and be My Instrument. Tell the people in the world that, 'I love her!'. After your mission is over, I will call you back again".
God had given each one of us a mission, before He called us back to Himself.
We are not here in this world, merely to serve the physical, but for spiritual mission.
When, called back, we had to give account of our obligations and duties toward our fellow human being. Be judged or rewarded with eternal life.
After our arrival into the world, we are duty-bound to communicate with our heavenly Father, on the progress and well-being of our fellowmen and ourselves. In the service of God, we were given 'seeds, foods, weapons, etc'. As a farmer, who sow seeds on the field, as shepherds, were given food for their sheep and as weapons were given to us to fight spiritual battles, etc.
The path and view of the Kingdom of Our Father had continuously been blocked and obstructed by the Devil.
The path toward this Kingdom of which Christ came for, without the Devil is clear and the journey easy. The Devil brought about the fall of mankind, because of sin. Sin is like haze, that engulfs the earth, blocking it from the precious rays of the sun. Although the sun struggled to penetrate the earth, but it failed, unless the smoke is blown off. So is sin, like haze, blocked us from the 'Light' of God. The sun is a symbol of God and its ray, is like grace, lighting and warming the whole world. God's love and mercy is continuously shower on all mankind, sinners and saints alike.
The Devil continues to come between God and mankind.
For my personal experience, the initial relationship, with God starts, with our humble heavenly Mother Mary. We may have put a lot of failed signals, to so many destinations, as though we are making telephone contacts but dialed wrongly. Like a radio antenna, facing the wrong direction, etc. To our relief, Jesus had given us His Beloved Mother. In heaven mother and son, travels together. Where Jesus is, there we will find our Blessed Mother.
Jesus loved, honored and respected, His mother, while He was on earth, so shall this relationship continue in the spiritual realm.
Therefore, we too ought to give our Blessed Mother, the same treatment, respect, honor and love, but must fall short of worship. Our Blessed Mother passes the praises and honors that, we give to her back to God.
We need to acknowledge, Mary as a perfect human being, of which we are all on this journey towards her perfection.
Her perfection and holiness comes from Jesus Christ as Son of God. For as St. John described Jesus as God, by saying, 'In the beginning was the Word. The Word was with God...The Word becomes flesh and dwell among us..' This clearly described Jesus as God. Before Mary arrived into this world, she would be the first recipient of redemption, she was purified, by the Spirit of God. God is preparing a 'House' for His Son to dwell. This 'House' needed to be free from sins. For from this flesh of Mary, Jesus shall inherit, His Human Nature. His Human Nature needed to come from a woman, who is completely pure and free from any stain of sins. Although, like Jesus who was tempted in the desert, when He fasted forty days, so too was Mary tempted. Both were victorious.
She is the only human being, (different from Jesus who is God), who possessed that holiness from God, that brought about the 'Assumption of Mary', body, soul and spirit
We needed to be humble enough to acknowledge that holiness, by itself is God's making. None of this process of purification and sanctification comes from ourselves, or other spirits, but only from God, through His Spirit.
God consecrates us to be of service to our neighbors, thus He passes on His Power and Authority, to those whom God counted as worthy. As a human being, who allow God to consecrate, for His purpose, never dare to count himself worthy, but out of God's love and mercy, He forgives us our trespasses and makes us right with Himself.
Yet the greatest gift of them all is, Divine love. This love had its source and being, from God alone.
We may carried and be armored with the power and authority of God, but without love it is just useless. For we are here on earth, to please God and to do His Will.
God would never gives us power, so to raise us above other, ordinary human being, but rather to be the Instrument of His Love and Service, to His Children.
All the gifts of the Holy Spirit, are meant, to enable us to be like Jesus. Jesus washed His disciples' feet, calling us to share in His missions. To love and to serve, others. To save them, not judge and condemn them. To give hope and light to those who are despair.
God had bountiful gifts for all His Children, free to our asking, as long, or as far as we can, will or wants to grasp and hold His mysteries. We needed to learn to trust in God. Unless we yield and trust in Him, we might be just prolonging our struggle to experience His presence and love.
What had been revealed to mankind are just fragments of His enormous blessings, gifts and bursting power, authority, wisdom, knowledge and understanding. Yet God longed to, give His 'whole heart' to His Children. How much, He had, that is how much, He wanted to give and share with all of us.
The battle of prayer, begins to triumph, when we acknowledged our sinfulness, inadequacy, weaknesses and inability to reach out to God. Therefore we come to Him with a humble and contrite heart, seeking His strength to hold on to His 'rescue rope'. He looks at His Children with Love and Mercy, which is called 'Grace', working or action of the Holy Spirit.
The manifestation of God's love and mercy is Jesus Christ. He comes and dwells with us, in us and through us, in the Holy Spirit.
The scenario of God reaching to us and we to God, can be seen in the True story of 'Jesus walking on the water towards Peter and His disciples'. Peter saw Jesus, almost fainted, as he couldn't believe with what He saw. Human laws cannot explain the phenomena, of which only the Law of the Spirit can.
Peter's faith was finally awaken and he walked towards Jesus, but sank after his human weak spirit overcame God's Spirit.
We too would fall, like Peter, when we allow the human weak spirit to reach, hold or cling on to God, overpowering the Spirit of God. Instead, we need the Holy Spirit, specifically that of His Son, to enable us to call God, 'Abba Father!'
Similarly prayers needed faith an outcome of grace, in order to successfully hold on to God.
The fact is that the Kingdom of God would reigns powerfully in hearts that are open and submitted to Him.
The Immaculate Heart of Mary is completely dilated and open to God and to all God's Children.
Personally, when I could not experience God, I prayed to our Blessed Mother with this disposition of heart, whether as contemplation or words,
'Heavenly Mother, I thank you for giving me your beloved Son, as my Lord and Savior.
Mother, unite my heart, soul and mind with yours, so that through this union, I can truly experience God once more'.
With this prayer, I found Jesus. Our Blessed Mother told me that she never wants to hold on to God's Children, but as a channel for which all can come to God through her. Once God's Children are by her Lord's side, she continues to be with them through the unity of One Holy Spirit. Time, space, matter, etc cannot separate us from the love of God and one another, we call the Communion of Saints. In the Communion of Saints, our Blessed Mother leads us, in unity of hearts, souls and minds, moving towards God, through Jesus Christ her Son, in His Human Nature and her God, in Jesus' Divine Nature.
Through unity of all saints, we would be drawn into oneness, through the Glorified Human Body of Jesus. The Glorified Human Body of Jesus is One with God, as Son. God as Son is One with the Father, through the action of the Holy Spirit. That is called the Triumph of Prayer.
Praise the Lord. Amen.
