"I am a Jealous God" (Exodus 20:4-5)

"Do not make for yourselves images of anything in heaven or on earth or in the water under the earth. Do not bow down to any idol or worship it, because I am the Lord your God and I tolerate no rivals".

Those were the Words of God, Yahweh, spoken to Moses at Mount Sinai.

'I am a jealous God!' He tolerates no rival. Yes! Indeed, He tolerates no rival.

In those He sets apart; chosen as His own and experience His presence, these words really apply.

God always wants an intimate and real life spiritual relationship with His 'Creature' that bears His Image and Likeness.

Has God the right and authority to be jealous?

Yes! He had all the right and authority to be jealous.

When He specially chose someone as His own, He made a covenant with that someone. It is a mutual covenant, whereby God invites the recipient to be, the 'spouse of the Holy Spirit', as all saints in heaven are. Spouse of the Holy Spirit, for those on earth, God will mould them into His future saints even while on earth. Although they may be still imperfect, God accepted them as righteous, through His love for His Son, Jesus Christ.

When He makes a covenant with that special someone, God opens up their special sight. They would be able to sense, the real presence of God in their lives. God would continue to speak or prompt that Blessed, through the indwelling and overshadowing of the Holy Spirit. That person, might not sense the calling immediately, but it would be repeated. There are obligations attached to the calling. God would promise, his love, mercy, protection and empowerment. His Instrument, would be trained to be very humble; that is to have the character of Jesus. There will be mission to be accomplished by that someone. He/she would be very much convinced of the calling. This calling, might be smear, by the physical and its wisdom, but as the covenant apply, God would continue to protect His works. This person would not be permanently crippled by the persecutions of the world. They would be martyrs for God and His work.

For they had experienced the reality of God's presence, of which even the 'Gate of Hell' cannot overcome, no matter how the Devil tried. For God who sealed the covenant with them, would not break His covenant and promise.

Those people, who pledged their whole life to God, would have their spoken and unspoken prayer answered by God. The unspoken prayers are prayers from the depth of the hearts. They are prayers from the inner pure spirit, which lived in unity, cohesion and love with the Holy Spirit.

This person would have to put God first above all things. It is a real life relationship, of which God is 'breath and life' to that person. If God is 'away' or 'absence', they would immediate or sooner sensed it. They cannot live without God. The Truth is that God is breath and life to that person.

Christ Jesus, a perfect human being, went through intense trials and was led by the Holy Spirit into the desert. There, He had to duel and confront the Devil. This would not be necessary at all if Adam and Eve, had not open the door of heaven on earth, to the Devil. Because of the disobedience of one man, God demanded that Man Himself must put right, what had turned bad. Jesus was chosen and anointed by God for this special mission. That was to duel with the Devil. The Devil tempted both the First Adam and the Second Adam. Jesus overcame trials and temptations in various situations and conditions in life. The final one was at the Garden of Gethsamane, where His sweats were like drops of blood. Imagine the intensity of His trials. He could just walk away from God and the mission entrusted to Him, if He wanted, but He accepted the pain, suffering and agony of the 'Cross', in contrary to what the Devil offered Him. Christ had won the wars, with Satan, but we all had to fight these inner battles, with the Devil. The truth is that, only God has the final says in all situations and conditions, we are tempted. Victories are always at Jesus' side, but the difficulties are that God respected the Freewill, that we as a human being demanded from Him. By this demand, we indeed, were susceptible to the continuous attack by the Devil. This was indeed an advantage to the forces of darkness. Most of us manipulated, exploited and abused this freedom to the disadvantage of the souls inside. That eternal souls were the most precious element of our lives.

God wants all of His beloved Children to go through the trials and temptations, in order to strengthen us in this pilgrimage of life. The Devil is always around to manipulate and tried to challenge God and His Children. But they would not be very patient. When they could not get what they wanted, they leave Jesus alone for a while. They too would leave us alone for a while, but they might come back, with the same temptation, now may be in different ways, most of them camouflage to the physical eyes, in order to lure God's Children into their traps. The Devil understands the trend of time. They would not come with a temptation that does not appeal to us. They instead come like a 'Santa Claus', bringing a huge sack of presents, that are being wrapped beautifully. Once inside their traps, Children of Light could be entangled, in their struggle to set themselves free. The Devils were most delighted and enjoyed to witness the agony and pain of God's Children. They would try to prevent God from reaching His Children, by pushing them further inward. They might try to stretch out their hands to God, but the Devil would try to push their hands away. They might try to shout out to God for help, but the Devil tried to tame their cry, so that help of God would be rejected. In their imprisonment and enslavement, they deceive God's Children and dampened their faith in God. Without faith, they would not be able to receive grace.

The Devil seemed to challenge God; the fact was/is that as a whole Jesus had came out triumphant in battling with the evil one. The war was over, but the battles are still ragging hot, before 'time' ran out for them.

By dying on the cross, Jesus ransomed our sin, as Lamb of God. Taking our place, just like Abraham, offering Isaac, but a ram took his place. Isaac was save and this ram represent what had passed, two thousands years ago. Jesus was the ram, the Lamb of God. For because of sin we deserved to die, that was justice. For because of One Man that caused about the spiritual death of all his descendents, so too Man must restore what the other had destroyed. That One Man was Jesus Christ. Since the battles are not over yet, therefore we must personally make our pledge to be one with Jesus, in order that salvation may be experienced personally by us. God had sealed the New and Everlasting Covenant with God and Man with the Blood of Jesus Christ. We too must personally make a covenant in unity with the Covenant of Jesus, so that salvation may be ours personally. Not only to stay by Jesus' side, but to be a 'little' Jesus in facing the Devil. To command and deliver. To have the authority and power of Jesus to be in control of our lives. Jesus not only dwells, alongside us, as we walk, the journey of lives, but foremost/utmost crucial, for Him to be enthroned, inside our lives. To let Him be the Life in the Temple of our bodies. When the Shepherd is around, the wolves would not come near. Only if we decided to roam, away from the flock, the wolves would take their sweet time, manipulating and ensnaring the lost sheep. Jesus would leave the ninety-nine sheep and look for this strayed one. To a human being, leaving the ninety-nine and journeyed out in search of the deserved to be lost, does not make sense. This was/is how Jesus would do. Like the story of the Portugal Son, who leave the family with the treasure of the family deserved to be alienate and not accepted by the father, but that was the opposite. This parable was to reveal to man the mysteries of Divine mercy and love, which mere human being could not possibly grasp. The Devils always use human justice to penetrate human hearts. By their deceits about God's Goodness, guilt may lead to sins. God never wants us to underestimate His Love and Mercy. He would not even spare His Son from the agony and shameful death. He loved us, even while we were sinners; how much more He would love us now, after the ransom had been paid.

We are partakers of this Divine Love and justice. Are we willing to become His Instruments and put this as part of our lives in advance, before the end of time for each of us? The human sinful, selfish and prideful hearts would surely put a tough struggle to see that they are not cornered/silenced off. They would be raging with fury and anger, until the 'time', when the pure human heart and nature triumphed.

When He found that helpless and wounded sheep, His heart arched and cried out in agony, as the scenario, of the agony in the Garden of Gethsamane repeated itself in every individual soul.

God is not worry about our sins, for He already had the antidote for this once deathly diseases. All He worries about is that we are not capable of putting our full trust in Him.

"Do not make for yourselves images of anything in heaven or on earth or in the water under the earth. Do not bow down to any idols or worship it".

This is the First and most important of all the Commandments of God. This concerns our relationship with God. During the Time of the Fall, till the Time when Moses rescued them from the Land of Exile, they worshipped different gods. Why were they worshipping other gods, even though with full knowledge, that God was with full power and authority?

God with mighty power rescued them from Pharaoh and his armies, by the crossing of the Red Sea. They had experienced great phenomena, that they had never seen before. Why were they turning away from God who loved them?

Let's bring those scenarios, to the Time we are in.

Jesus Christ, came. He had taught us. He had suffered and died for our sake. He had conquered death, by His obedient to the Will of God.

Why are so many people turning our back on God, toward so many craven images of the world. It is not only about idols that the pagan worshipped, but most of the people in this world, made for themselves certain gods and goddesses. Most put money, material, worldly wisdom as power. They regarded the treasure of God's Kingdom as worthless and His wisdom foolishness. They want immediate and tangible gain, but how long will these ways of enslaving oneself in earning treasure last? Will they ever be given the opportunity to enjoy the fruits of their struggle?

Most would struggle till their last breath, to gain these powers, that derive from this world. For the world believed that money, wisdom and knowledge, is power. Power to dominate and in control. That is what most of the people in this world desired most in lives.

Jesus told us not to put our feet in two different boats. We would definitely sink. We cannot worship God and money. If we think that by worshipping God wholeheartedly, God is going to snatch the treasured wealth that we struggled in order to gain, from us and give them all to the poor; so refused to let God be enthroned in our lives, are really living in deceits and falsehood. They could not understand God as a Divine Providence. Which means that God is the creator, and He sustains everything by His Spirit, had every right to His own property. Are we trying to be the Devil, who stole from God. They stole from God's creation. They stole our souls and spirits. They stole our lives and value. They brainwashed them and put his values and deceits, into the minds of mankind who are God's creature? Are we not foolish indeed to be the Devil's partakers? To work in achieving his vision of destruction?

The angels and saints in heaven worshipped God in a selfless manner, from the depth of their hearts. It becomes their natural instinct to love, in this way. To them selfishness and pride had no place in their lives. Their loves for each other were just like the love that Jesus had for all of us, whom He died for. They all share One Spirit, that is the Holy Spirit. They are One through the Spirit of Jesus Christ, which was sent down as from the Day of Pentecost, as an Official Anointing to begin the Mission that Christ had started. That Spirit is with all the saints. All saints of God, whether in heaven or on earth had unique roles to play. No one in the Kingdom of God shall be left idle.

We are all consecrated in different orders, according to the will of God. We may be consecrated; as hand of God to distribute material, God's message of love to enrich and nourish the souls and spirits. His compassionate and merciful hearts, consecrated to be a consoler to the heart-broken or down hearted and low in spirits, to nurture, love and care for our dependents, etc. As a whole to manifest the presence of God in the physical world.

It is a great blessing and privilege to be called and consecrated by God for His purposes. For with every humble and willing service we render to God, none is un-important. For God will reward His servants and children with eternal lives. In heaven there shall be eternal joy, peace and love, none that we ever fully experience in this world. A great investment, is being put forward to each one of us. Are we willing to take the offer? Are we willing to seal a personal covenant with God?

Yes! Baptism is our entering into a new and initial covenants with God. Are we willing to live a renewed lives of new discoveries in the Spirit with the Lord? Have we rejected the gifts of the Holy Spirit, which enable us to truly live as New Descendant of the New Adam, Jesus Christ? Before Christ Jesus, the descendent of Adam and Eve after the fall lived by the Law, in order to be One with God. In the Time of Jesus Christ, the Law of God will be written in the hearts, as His Spirit. Jesus Christ, glorified, He becomes a Mystical Body in which all of us are tiny cells to this Body. Jesus Christ is the Head and Owner of His own Body. He is the head, Lord and master of every cells of the body. He gives life and sustains them for all. The fluid in every cell is just like the Holy Spirit. Without the fluid, the cells dried and death off. The Spirit of God gives life to all who belong to this Mystical Body.

Remember that God is 'jealous', firstly because we belong to Him. Secondly He loves us too much to see us, live in falsehood and deceits. Thirdly God knows what is best for us, He does not want us to regret later on. Therefore He would gives us all the opportunity to come to Him, to have knowledge of Him and after being enlightened, to have the ability to love Him. Fourthly, He had prepared a great lives for us in union with Him, in heaven, in fact were the silent prayers of the hearts. God wants to make sure that the desire of the hearts are fulfilled and answered.

Praise the Lord. Amen.
