JESUS EXPLAINS THE PARABLE OF THE WEEDS (MATT 13: 36-43)
Jesus, filled with sacks of good seeds, came as farmer to sow.
The Devil, filled with sacks of seeds of weed/destruction, sow his seeds, in a common field.
What is the outcome? The Spiritual Battles? Who succumbed? Who saved/restored? How? The Final Victory/Restoration and the defeat of the Devil. Final separation. The Kingdom of God as it used to be, but then, filled with the Image and Likeness of Jesus Christ.
See! How Jesus said He is the one who sowed the good seeds. They are the people who belong to the Kingdom of God. The weeds are the people who belong to the Evil One. The field is the world. All goodness, holiness, peace, love, joy, beautiful and worth our praise and admiration comes from God, whereas all that are contrary to these belonged to the Evil One.
It is not how badly we sin but rather how willing are we to allow good seeds to grow in us. The seeds are God's Words. The Words of God is His Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ as a human being is the completion and perfection of all sacramental. Things that are consecrated and set aside for God or meant for spiritual purpose are called sacramental. Christ is the surest sign of the presence of God in this world. He is Anointed by God Himself to be the 'Lamb of God, Suffering Servant, First-born Son of Man, Messiah and Savior of the world'. Jesus Christ is the Word of God. God spoke through His Son, Jesus Christ to the people whom God had created. God made Jesus to be one of our kinds. A human being, born of a human mother.
In our time, after the ascension of Jesus and the descend of the Holy Spirit, the Word of God, comes to us through the Holy Spirit, dwelling and empowering His Servants and Instruments. God empowers the Pope, Bishops, Priests and all His chosen people, especially the religious brothers, sisters, anointed laities and even people of other religions, who had faith in God.
The Priests are Servants and Instruments of God to administer Sacraments. Sacraments are sign, symbols, words, gestures and actions of Christ.
In the basic Seven Sacraments of the Church, the matter used, may they be light, water, oil, etc, had a very deep spiritual significant. People who come with faith are to understand the value of entering or receiving, the various sacraments concerned. Their faith formatters ought to enlighten them on the mysteries of the Sacraments. Jesus is present in the world, especially in those God set aside for Divine purposes through the Holy Spirit. In all the Sacraments and actions that are consecrated, the Holy Spirit is working, giving and showering us with love and mercy, called Grace. Grace of God, is unmerited. Those who hunger and thirst for the Word of God are already Blessed and made worthy by God, to receive His Spirit.
When Adam and Eve committed Sin, they snatched away what belonged to God and store it in the 'self', in them. What is the meaning of 'self'? Before the fall of Adam and Eve, all human will is submissive to God's will. There was never any hustle about 'me, myself and I'. These words, thoughts and desires were never manifested. All were like God's holy angels. They were obedience to every words of God.
After the fall, Men co-operated with the Devil and stole from God. Then the 'me, myself and I' existed.
Therefore Mankind, fought for freedom from the reign of God in their lives. Then the ever merciful God, gave way to us, of which freewill was given. God seemed to say, "My Children! I love you very much, but I am sorry and sad, you don't fully trust in me anymore. If you decided and had made up your mind to leave! Remember, you'll always be welcome home and we could be once again as we used to be. I know! My Children, you all would not be able to make good, what you had spoilt, but in time to come, I will choose from among you, a perfect man, who would lead you all to me! Remember! My Children the Time will come!"
Therefore mankind departs from the full presence and reign of God, to dwell in a Garden, away from Paradise. They dwell between the Garden of Paradise and the dwelling place of the Devil.
The Devil, continued to throw seeds of weed, into the soil of men's heart, while God continued to pull the weed, water the plant, gives it enough sunlight, moisture, food, gentle care and love. God is the Gardener, who waited patiently for the plant to mature and bear fruits.
The saints in heaven had given back what they had stolen from God. Are we going to wait, till we leave this material world, then decided to return to God what we had stolen. By then, would we have any treasure to pay back? Are we spiritually naked? With nothing worthy of God's praise, it might just be too late.
We need to have the Nature of God empowering our Human Nature, so to say, the likeness of Christ Himself. Nothing less then that, shall any person be worthy of heaven.
Then, it is impossible to go to heaven! By Men's ability and human power, that is absolutely impossible! How then can it be possible?
Only through the Grace of God, this is possible.
The person who possesses the seeds of weed, is the Devil. The Devil, together with his angels and instruments (those who had given themselves over to evil, be it temporary or permanent, through their complacency with their spiritual blindness, dwelling among or in the company of the Devil and his angels), are farmer sowing the weed, for the purpose of suffocating, the wheat of precious nourishment, which the farmers had put. The Devil's main strategy is to destroy the whole plot of land, by planting weed there. Sucking the wheat plants of their nourishment would leads to poor or nothing to harvest at the end of the 'day'.
This plot of land is our hearts. The Devil continued, untiringly, trying to destroy our hearts, by diverting us from the full worship and sight of God.
They were/are raging a fierce war against God and all His children. He is full of fury, jealousy, envy, frustration, hatred, greed, pride, lust and all the evil that cause men to fall into the pit of hell. They have no power over us unless we willingly submit to them. They cannot enter our hearts unless we let them. They knock softly, like Jesus' 'knock', they whisper even sweeter words than Jesus would, more encouraging, hopeful words as though they could give us all we want. But Lo! When the doors of our hearts are foolishly open against God's repeated warnings, we can see how wicked and evil they truly are when the veil is thrown opened. This is how the devil operate. They hide behind a beautiful mask and later reveal themselves.
God gives us plenty of spiritual gifts, natural talents, natural resources, friendship etc. But when we are not careful enough these elements of goodness can be manipulated by the evil one for his selfish gains. Money and wealth too are gifts from God and so is our intellect. The devil uses these as a foundation, channels or as a station to influence ignorant people to go beyond what God allows us to do. We become slaves to these gifts of God and we instead adore them.
All honor, glory and praise belong to God, we do not deserve any. All holiness, goodness and love are from God alone. We express these qualities of God in our imperfect ways- the seeds of God growing in us (the soil). This 'soil' does not deserve praise. What others see, through us are the soil and the plant. They could not see, the effort that God, the Farmer had put through. Just like a sincere and humble person, when his/her characters are being praised, would pass these honor to his/her parents, who had given them the basic foundation of virtuous life. The plant (symbol of our spiritual lives) has God's Spirit growing in it. Admiring and honoring the saints are directly or indirectly doing these to Jesus who dwells in their hearts.
The Holy Spirit is God's Life given to us. The 'Spring of Living Water', Jesus mentioned and revealed to the Samaritan woman, a sinner to our human judgement. It is God dwelling in men, teaching, and giving them the ability to response positively to the prompting of the Holy Spirit. The spiritual blind, could not see, what the Children of "Light' were/are experiencing.
In a very general term, Jesus is the Light of the world. Before the fall of mankind, Adam and Eve, were dwelling in and among the 'Light' of God. Everything that God created was good. Then the ancient serpent that had been caste out of heaven, together with his angels, haunted and tried to track down, the children of Light. In their human weaknesses, they succumbed and fall. After the fall, they could not dwell in Paradise/heaven, until the offspring of a 'woman', came and died. Jesus' heel was bitten, as He crushed the head of the serpent. The serpent was merely a sign of the cunning and disgusting devil. Jesus heel was bitten, a sign of His Passion and death, leading to His triumph, symbolized by the crushing of the head of the ancient serpent. With His death, mankind, united with Jesus, would be joined with His Spirit, in order to be one with the Father. At the end of Time destined and willed by the Father, Jesus shall send His angels to bring those who had God's stamps of ownership to be with Him in heaven.
When Jesus revealed that only the Father knows, He meant that as Son of Man, He would not be able to know, but Yes! In His Divine Nature. He is One in the Divine Godhead, sharing the same power, wisdom, knowledge and all that is God's had full knowledge, when this would happen, yet it was too immature for Jesus to do so. He would come as thief, to the surprise of the house's owners. He even kept His disciples waiting.
The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvest workers are angels. At the end of the world God sends his angels after all physical, material things disappeared. We see God face to face in love or in shame, in joy or in sadness, in hope or in despair.
Where our hearts are while on earth, there our souls will be
For the virtuous, they would have been almost transformed into Christ's likeness. Those who are to inherit the Kingdom of God will have to be bathed with the Divine Precious Blood of Christ before the final entry into Heaven. This is very painful for those who are used to the ways of sin. By the mystery of His Blood and Spirit a person is purified to inherit the Kingdom of God. Final Bathe with the Divine Precious Blood of Christ, means the final transformation to the likeness of Christ.
Satan was set free, to roam the earth, until the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. For those who love the dark, punishment await for them in the eternal fire, where sulfur shall be added to increase the heat. Is there really a fire, that is physical? This fire is God's anger, as He exercised His full power and authority over the Devil, his angels and slaves. With anger, He will call all the children of darkness before Him and punish them severely for their deceits, lies and the sins that they spread over all the earth.
They shall gnash their teeth, which is a sign of their extreme suffering, pain and torment. They had/have been accustomed to the 'Fire' of hell, of which they were/are in, since their fall from heaven, but they had never experience the heat, when sulfur was added. They shall be in this hopeless state for all eternity.
Praise the Lord. Amen.
