It can become a power and conquer you if you allow it to happen. In that case, My Spirit has to go and that vacuum, would be filled up with other spirits, that are impure or even evil.

Remember my daughter, you are made up of body, soul and spirit. These combined to make you a human being. The animals and other living creatures may have bodies but are sustained by My Spirit to survive. If I retract My Spirit from them, they die. They do not have souls like you but they are very much loved by Me, your Lord and God.

The seven capital sins of pride, anger, lust, envy, greed, anxiety and sloth or laziness are the evil needs that the fallen human flesh is being fed. If they are planted and given nourishment, they will grow and grow, later on it becomes uncontrollable and captures your whole body. You would become a slave and instrument of this power. You can hardly control them but they can control you. You may suddenly feel angry and automatically burst out hitting walls, throwing objects, hurting others etc. You cannot control these actions. Your hands just have to take revenge and be satisfied.

Pride is the cause of the fall of Adam and Eve. If we allowed pride to take root and grow in us, it retards our spiritual, mental and emotional growth. In the course of learning, pride destroys your ability to humble yourselves and ask questions or learn from those more knowledgeable and intelligent people. In spiritual growth, pride retards it because it is not God's Spirit but that comes especially from the sinful will of the flesh. Pride prevents us to be persons of better self-control, humility and to learn from others.

Lust is a very dangerous seed if it is allowed to grow. It destroys marriages. Lustful spirits cannot be quenched with conjugal love but lust desires evil ways that are not God's ways.

Lust leads to abnormal sexual lives of the children of darkness. Lust does not respect, our bodies as the Temple of the Holy Spirit.

Do not let sex become a power. When it takes control, it destroys a person and leads him/her to hell if it is not destroyed and removed.

Spirit of laziness is very common. Many times we wish to go to Church early in the morning but are lazy to do so. Many times we'd like to serve others freely but our body is not willing. We are lazy to do work that has no tangible returns. If it was for money, we could do anything, even wake up at dawn, but certainly not for God. We'd rather spend our time sleeping, indulging in other activities than to do God's work. " The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak". This was actually Christ's warning to His Apostles to prepare them for a mission.

We must not be complacent with this phrase of human complacency, saying 'after all we are human beings with desires of our own'. This is the way sinners continue to please themselves and decide not to be holy. We are all made to know, love and serve God. We are all made for God's purpose and for His Kingdom. We are not created for the world or the devil. We are much more superior and privileged than the devil. The devils are condemned to eternal hell-fire but we have hope, Jesus raised us to the height of glory- those who follow Him and die to the will of the flesh, just like Jesus did. He obeyed God and died, if He had succumbed to the will of the flesh, He could not have saved us. During the agony in the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus could have changed God's plan and refuse to suffer and die for us but He submitted to the will and desire of God. He cried but He obeyed, no matter what. He took great pity and compassion on His "Church or Bride" who is dying for His blood of purification and life. Without shedding His blood for us no one could be saved. He therefore offered Himself as the 'Lamb of God' for the redemption and salvation of the world. All who follow Jesus have to die to the will of the flesh - the highly conceited mind of man, his wisdom, values, the hunger for wealth and gain, to take pleasure in the sufferings of others, envious of others wealth and success etc. Sin can be an action or desire, because desires produce actions. These desires need to be replaced with the desires of God. To serve and love only God by worshipping Him in public worship of the Holy Mass, in our hearts, minds, thoughts and actions. All must be directed to God in worship and praise.

Our existence is sustained by God. We die the moment He takes His breath from us. We decay like other living materials and return to the soil and air. What remain physically are our bones and skulls, spiritually our remains are our souls with the mind and spirit attached to it. Our bones shall be here till the Last Day when Jesus come to judge the living and dead and all things created will disappear like the closing of a scroll. Praise the Lord. Amen.
