Prayer
Prayer is for our transformation, not God.
What does the above words mean?
God had never Change. He was, He is and will always be the same, holy omnipotence and loving God.
But man, had changed, since Adam and Eve sinned and fall away from God, so were, are and will the children of theirs, if they refused to turn away from their sinful lives.
Turning away from our sinful lives mean, turning away from living in the world of deceit and darkness, the essence in the den of the Devil. Once we were used to be enslaved by the Devil and ensnared by them, because we belonged to them, but when we turned away from these sinful lives, which would bring us to share the cross of Christ, in our own ways, which God allows us to carry.
In whatever position, condition or situation, we are, there are roles for us to play, in unity with Christ. Once we belong to the world, therefore, we too share, in the table and meals of the world and Devil, we shared in their missions of destruction too. Now, when we turn away from them, we share in the table of the Lord and together we dinned and share the mission of salvation.
The mission of salvation on a personal basis, is self-sacrificing of the sinful desires and wills of the flesh, instead we join our pure human nature and desires with the will and desires of God, through unity with Jesus, in the working of the Holy Spirit.
Prayer can be in so many different forms. It can be from the desire, will of the heart and thought as in meditation. Our worship of God, through His manifestation in the wonder and splendour of/in natures. As we gazed at the sea-side, admired its beautiful sceneries, as the water flows in and move out. As the sun rose and set. As the waves, rose and drops. The beautiful night skies, with moon and stars. The morning breeze, as we stroll along, etc.
We, who are given physical sight, need to ponder and discover God, who planned and put everything in its places and order. How unique and marvellous was/is and will His revelations to us in natures.
How superb and marvellous God is. Yes! Indeed, He is so much more, if we can only gazed, even through the opening of our spiritual sight, how powerful, marvellous, splendid and essence of all beauty and uniqueness, that the world had never seen.
In the family, our parents to most of us, had the closest resemblance to God. We may not realize the presence and love of God, as a Father, but we may discover God through our parents and loved ones.
If God who created our parents, although they are far away from purity and holiness, yet they are capable of loving us, irrespective of our shortcomings and imperfection, what more would God, who instilled that essence of love, that is what most of us thought, would offer us, who are His Children. God is the creator, giver of life and love, of our physical and spiritual. The fact is God put His love, in parents as a natural instinct, so that through their hands, as God's instruments, God may manifest His real love and concern for all His Children.
Prayer can be in the forms of words that we uttered, as praises and worship. It can be in the form of our deeds as in our actions.
Prayer as a whole is for our changing/transformation to that of God's Nature and ways. As John the Baptist said, that he came to prepare the path for the Lord; the hills and mountains, to be levelled. The valleys to be filled. The winding paths, made straight. The rough road, to be smoothened, etc, in fact are pointing to our conceited attitudes and ways, the life of falsehood that we are so familiar, used and accepted in our lives. As a whole we are so proud of ourselves as a human being, that God had no place in our lives.
As God never change and He would never, ever change, but we need to change drastically, through the 'fire' and desire that comes from the Holy Spirit, in unity with our consented participation of freewill. Consented participation of freewill means that God, even though He had every right and authority to enter into His own 'house' and do the renovation and rearrangement of furniture, etc, yet He would not. We are in fact dwelling in a body that is not our own, but the property of God. As He wished to, He had every right and authority to do whatever He pleases with this earthly body of His. He gave/ gives and will always gives, His mere creatures, the dignity and respect as His Children. He recognised/recognises and will always, until the end of time gives us freedom to choose. After the end of time, what was spoilt would be restored. Man, would fully trust in God to care, love and nurture them without doubt again. That is the demand of Adam and Eve, when they invited the Serpent into the Garden, which ought to be paradise forever. Question ourselves now, had/ have and will we ever make the wisest choice? Are we too concern about the world and its wealth or are we indeed, truly wise, by inviting the 'richest man, wisest man, righteous man, holiest man, etc' into our lives? Who is this man?
He is never a stranger to those who truly seek the Truth and Way. He is Jesus Christ. He came/comes and will always comes to us in the working and empowerment of the Holy Spirit. That was what happened during the descend of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles of Christ. Before, they were fearful, doubtful and powerless, but when the Spirit of Jesus as Son and Spirit of the Father descended on them, they were completely transformed, until today.
God needed a humble and contrite heart, which is willing to say to God, 'For me to change, through and in my own power, it is impossible. I am a sinner and will remain so, like a man in a pond of mud, of which I could not get out, but I know, You Almighty God, who is pure and holy would look with mercy and pity on this unworthy soul. Therefore I shall trust in Your Almighty power and love to set me free from this sticky pond of dirty mud. Therefore, as You put Your hands down to grip, my unworthy dirty hands, I know You would be able to transform me. You would wash me clean and clothed me with clean linen of heaven. You would put rings on my fingers and shoes on my feet. Even though, I am not worthy, You would treat me like a son, in the Kingdom of heaven. With this love and compassion, You had shown me, I will always keep this enormous fire of love burning in my heart and like a spark, I shall, through Your grace, spread this fire of Yours, to others'.
God in His mercy and compassion, would never reject any soul, that yearn for His help. He would, instantly sanctified and mould that soul that trust and depended on Him, like a little child that Jesus used to carry in the Land of Palestine of which the once ignorant disciples despised.
Therefore the length of time, as we measure it, for those who remain and struggle in purgatory for perfection and modification depended, not so much on God, but on that individual soul. The food of heaven is being offered to the souls, but are they willing to consume that food, of which they had all those while rejected, when God offered them, while they were still in this world?
Yes! Indeed, we can safely say that, while they were still in this world, they were ignorant, because they cannot see, the Kingdom of God. Then we shall be able to blame God. Had God who is just, ever does injustice to man?
God gives each one of us the grace, in this land of exile to be sober and reflect on their relationship with God, but most of us refused the friendship of God, which require us to die to the pleasure and objects of treasures in this world, to embrace the cross. Would not this scenario continued after this earthly lives?
Most people who were given the grace, to enter even the lowest point in purgatory, would have the opportunity to go heavenward, yet the length of time retained there, depended on the souls' response to God's grace and mercy.
Since God is ever loving and merciful, He never want His Children to be short of that essence of purity, that comes from the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
How long a soul, stayed/remained in purgatory depended on the desire and will of the heart to be transformed by Jesus Christ, through His Precious Blood.
The Blood that had gone through all the torment and agony.
Therefore all those in purgatory, needed to be transformed into the likeness of Jesus Christ, the sole personality that God recognized, as inheritance of God's Kingdom.
God would only looked at the mark of Jesus, on every soul. God would bring those with these marks of Christ's Spirit to be in unity with Him.
In this world, while we are still veiled by the physical flesh, our desire and love for God, would be continued after our temporary clothing were removed.
Therefore, we cannot blame God, if our souls, or those who had died stayed so long in purgatory. For God was, is and will never be partial. God is just and loving.
All His words, actions and plans, were, are and will always be for the salvation of man, especially the souls.
Prayer is reaching out to God, by holding/gripping the 'hand' of God, that had tirelessly reaching out to us.
The hour before the Son of Man breathed His last breath on earth, He said, "I thirst!". Yes! Indeed, Jesus thirsted for our response to His depth of love.
It was, is and will always be the fundamental spiritual fact, that God was, is and will always be the first to love and embrace all humankind as His Children once more.
Therefore it is essential to have a humble and contrite heart towards God and all His instruments on earth.
To be humble and obedient to His transforming Spirit.
To acknowledge our inadequacy and failure to achieve holiness and perfection, without God leading and helping us.
God therefore, looks with mercy and pity on that particular helpless souls and filled them with the Holy Spirit, who shall be the sole sanctifier to transform them to God likeness, through Jesus Christ.
Without the Holy Spirit, our pleads, words, thoughts, will, desires and actions, etc, were merely of physical value, which would not be pleasing because they had no spiritual significant.
In baptism, we received that renewed lives of which are sustained and grow in strength and power, through the Holy Spirit.
Prayer is submission to God's Spirit, which required us to let God be the Lord and master of our lives.
He would reveal God's power, glory, wisdom, knowledge, etc. Acknowledges and aids us on the way to achieve that perfection of communion with God.
God would never look at how beautiful that house is, but He would instead look at the occupant, who would either welcome Him, as guest or whether that occupant or tenant, would treat Him as owner, lord and master. Our human physical body and spirit, together with its intellect are like a 'house'. The occupant of that 'house' is like a soul. God do not look at how humanly wise, beautiful and adequate we are, but as God and master, He can choose to transform those opposite to be spiritually wise and beautiful. All that God wanted is for us to truly realized from the depth of our hearts, that we fully can relied and depended on Him, to provide us with the ability to function, even as a human being.
Our prayers ought to ask God to awaken us from our deathly sleep and to live a truly meaningful lives, with our creator. A journey full of discoveries and new experiences, like a toddles taking the first lesson of walking. How much joy would both parties felt when the child, finally could walk properly. What more to say, the divine and eternal journey. On earth, our best friends, might be our parents, spouses or unrelated human beings, but no matter how firm or what we thought as unbreakable, still ends, when the end of time comes to one party. Our relationship with our creator lasted for all eternity, it would be truly wise for us to concentrated in nurturing this relationship. The relationship of God and His creature, of which through God's will and intention, had raised that to the status of Father and Son, through our One Lord and Saviour, whom God Anointed to became His Son. God took a creature from the earth, give that creature His Divine Life, not only a soul but, God Himself came down and dwell among and inside a man, called Jesus.
Adam and Eve were given a soul each, which by itself is a divine life of God, but they fall into sin. After that fall, God decided to incarnate into a human being, who was with soul and human spirit. Human Spirit had will of its own. This human spirit, before the fall was pure and holy, without stain/spot of sin, but they could not positively exercise their right. They were weak and the Devil took advantage of their condition. They fall, and through this God decided, not to let man stand alone in facing the Devil, but He will always stand by their side, to guide/guard and protect us as long as we need Him.
Many of us welcome Jesus as guest, rather than as Lord and master of their lives. For by this, it is indeed called worldly wisdom.
Yet this earthly wisdom was ignorant of its creation. Why do I say so?
God gives us earthly wisdom to function as His minds and hands, in order to be participants to continue the work of His creation. God created a storage room for our intelligence. God allows this intelligence to be utilized and exploited to the fullness, in fields of technologies, research, inventions, constructions, planning, education, etc, in order to make this world into a better place to live in. The Devil was never complacent, in keeping quiet and let God and His plan succeed, without any hitch. They tried to infiltrate into the ignorant mind of humankind, causing chaos, pride, selfishness, envy and all the sin of the fallen flesh, of which the hearts become a fertile soil, for these seeds to sprout and grow.
God the Divine Providence of the spiritual and physical needs, faces obstacles in implementing His missions, because humankind refused to co-operate with God, instead joined the camp of the devil to fight against God, most of them without full knowledge.
The words of Light and Knowledge of God, find it hard to penetrate the prideful heart of humankind, who welcomed what the world taught them. God as providence of the physical needs also find it hard, to distribute goods to those truly in need, because the devil, his angels, together with souls still alive and those who had left this world, seemed to snatch away these goods from the needy. These were spirits, that control the hearts and minds of humankind, counteract on the goodness of God as an impartial and loving God. Employers are supposed to be storage department for God to distribute, what were in fact given to them as instrument to share with others, but they became selfish, exploited and abused their position and power which were in fact given or allow by God.
Countries suffered from famine and people starved, because those who had abundant refused to share. Therefore, the poor get poorer, whereas the rich get richer. The hungry continued to go without food, whereas the full indulges themselves excessively. The knowledge and education, which God allows us to receive in order to build this world, was closed up for those who can't afford.
In the spiritual world, in the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of the Devil continued to be at war, with each other. The defeated devil and his armies were determined to fight till the final sound of the trumpet calling for Final Judgement Day, at the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. They wage their fury of envy on the well fed and loved Children of God.
They tried to spread darkness and be an obstacle for Children of God to love with a purified and perfected love. They prevent essential spiritual food, from reaching the Children of God. They were very strong, trying to block the words of God that were written in the Bible from being absorbed, assimilated and manifested in man. Most people gave up hope, in acquiring Light from the Bible. Most tried to read, but gave up, because they were dry and they can't understand. From my personal experience, I encountered the Devil, who was very powerful, unless we read God's words, through the protective shield and Light of the Holy Spirit. He tried to spread darkness and deceit to what were supposed to be Light and truth.
To truly experience God, we need to understand that He manifested/manifests and will continue to manifests, Himself through His Spirit.
When our spirits and souls meet God, the physical body is shaken and phenomena, of which human wisdom could not explain might and will be experienced by us. Children of God, who experienced the presence of God in various manifestation, did not tremble in fear, because like a little child being educated by a loving and gentle mother, when they watched educational movies, was convinced, consoled, enthusiastic and overwhelmed with joy and expectation of new things to come.
Through sharing these experiences with those who had encountered these, would in fact increase our faith and took away our fear, of which was put into our mind, by the devil.
Praise the Lord. Amen.
