TEMPTATIONS TO SIN (MATT 18:6-9)

If anyone should cause one of these little ones to lose his faith in Me, it would be better for that person to have a large millstone tied around his neck and be drowned in the deep sea.

Little ones are those who are considered outcaste and marginalized, whether that concerned insignificant powerless, poor, dependent and helpless members of our family, school, workplace, community, society, country and world as a whole.

Jesus is emphasizing on spiritual, concerning faith in God.

How does this apply in the material world?

Those who were in authorities, had significant and influential roles to play. They need to put priority, to the spiritual growth of those under them.

Be able to rule the earth, yet not lose our own souls, is one of the greatest challenges for those in authority.

They need to be humble enough to acknowledge that their positions were a call to serve, from the depth of the hearts, otherwise, by owning the whole 'world', we might end up losing our most priced asset, of lives.

How terrible for the world that, there are things that makes people lose their faith!

Such things will always happen - but how terrible for the one who causes them!

Sin was the caused of all evil in the world, but how terrible if Man participated with the Devil to bring about the downfall of those 'little ones'.

Those who are in authority and influential, would be harshly judged, by the words they utter, rules they made and actions, they produced.

The teachers of the religious laws, Scribes and Pharisees, would be heavily penalized, by leading those innocence Jews and the world astray.

Jesus was especially, pin-pointing, His commands on them, who had perverted the true teaching of God.

In our presence world, those in authority, need to be well educated in at least the core teaching of God, before ever making any specific statements.

In the church, as an Institute, we need to be very careful, least we be judged by God, for bringing down the little ones, who look up to us as, their leaders and teachers in their faith formation.

None of us, whether religious teachers, leaders or guidance, were ever perfect in God's eyes. We were merely, trying to be mature, as we journey with God. Yet none of the words of wisdom, knowledge and understanding that we said, were directly from us, but God, in His physically invisible ways, had channel that through us, consecrating us to be His Instruments.

Therefore we need to acknowledge our inadequacies and failures. We need not have to mask ourselves behind the curtain, but glorify God for all the goodness that came through us. If that is the case, then we need not be ashamed of our failures, although we are supposed to manifest God's power and presence in our lives. No one on earth shall be called worthy, to be Teacher of faith, because all had sinned and remain death, not until Christ gave us the unmerited reward, through His own perfection. Through Jesus Christ as Teacher, Leaders, Master and God, as He is one with the Father, became the Master and Lord of our lives and purpose, rightly all glory belongs to Him alone.

'There are things that makes people lose their faith!'.

What does Jesus meant by that?

In the world today, what are the things that brought down the faith of the little ones?

We can see that immorality, seemed to be accepted as norm of society. Parents had somehow yielded to the will of their rebellious children, who might take morality for granted. Should we blame our parents, teachers, society, etc, for the decay in this virtue?

During the time of the Old Testament, although the Pharisees and Scribes, were never good leaders and example of holy lives, yet the laws are holy, as they were written by the Inspiration and guidance of the Holy Spirit. There were law concerning morality, as drafted in the Ten Commandment, that 'Thou shall not commit adultery' and another more refined one, 'Thou shall not desire thy neighbor's wife', and we can add 'Thou shall not desire, thy neighbor's spouse, too'. By looking at them, with the purpose of possessing her/him, would amounted to sin. They would be publicly penalized if found committing this sin.

Look at the world today, whereby, those who claimed to be virtuous, highly educated, intelligent and conceited people, were themselves committing and breaking moral laws, by committing sins of adultery.

Man, of both sexes, had taken what was sacred and precious for a ride. Sexual passion and sins began to enslave their lives.

There were even laws in countries that had yielded to the demand of the Devil, by allowing Homo-sexual relationships, even to the extend of legalizing them as married couples. Making convenient for them, they can even adopt children into these most disgusting relationships.

Those who were in authority to legalize these relationship and marriage, would have to bear greater responsibility, then others.

Those legalizing abortion, for convenient or what ever purposes, would be one of the culprits of the fall of the little ones.

Therefore the church, as an Institute could not allow or promote birth control, by whatever means. All of us as individual members of the church, has to be personally responsible for our own sins and actions.

Injustice and discrimination, by our judgement of others concerning their status in society, based on wealth and power, color of skin and countries of origin, physical outlooks, by their appearance and outfits they wore, etc, slowly led to decaying values in the mind of the little ones. Parents, teachers, media with all its tempting and alluring movies, games, songs, etc, that seemed to promote violence , indecency and uphold corrupted values, etc, had polluted the innocence minds of little children, who cannot easily connect facts and frictions. Between truth and false, etc.

But they would learn, through all those experiences in lives to live a crooked lives. They would learn to understand that lying is essential, in order to escape from responsibility. Violence brings about fear in others, so by this they could protect themselves.

There are parents who lived their lives in agony of hiding behind the mask, by pretension and falsehood. These worldly astuteness might lead their children into the same line of lives.

If we had lived our lives, by the truth and willingness to expose our weakness and humble enough to accept the consequences, there is in fact nothing to hide. We can reveal everything to the world and be fearless of condemnation. Jesus revealed all truth stage by stage to the Disciples then when the Holy Spirit descended on them, they were officially anointed as Apostles. They became bearer of truth and manifest Christ's presence in their lives, from that day forth.

Human lives are sacred, no one had the right to tamper with them. Birth and death is essential in this sinful world. Our lives are by themselves gifts from God. No one had the right to take that away from us. To polish our lives, by caring for them, physically and internally are essentials, which are rightly our responsibility.

To terminate lives, by any means is meddling in God's plan. We may have the ability given by God, to bring about a physical body, but we were not given the ability to produce the soul, which belongs to God alone. We must be very caution, least we meddle with the role of God. Manipulating the natural order of life, go overboard, our responsibility.

Terminating human lives, by suicide, are outright evil and those who had done so, lived without listening and following the will of the souls and spirits, but their sinful flesh had enslaved them. When the sinful flesh, in unity with the Devil, became lord, king and master of human being, lives became valueless and hopeless. All they see, were world filled with agony, without any hope of freedom. That was the deceit of the Devil and those who allow themselves to be dragged into their domain of hell. By this premature death, the souls of those who committed suicide, would be left, without a house. God in His mercy and compassion might take them back, or else they would wonder around the domain of heaven, limbo or even enters into hell.

There are many in this world, who were convinced they had never experience God, in their lives. They would try in search of other things, to fill that emptiness. They might wildly and selfishly go in search, until they find the essence of worldly pleasure, which later began to imprison their lives.

Many had became drug abusers, chemical inhalers, consumerism, by indulging to seek pleasure in food, trying to satisfy their undying sinful passions, by gambling, consuming excessive alcohol and visiting prostitutes. They may become competitive (purchase for the sake of competition) and impulsive purchasers, but later found goods purchased were in fact useless. Through this sinful lifestyles, they would have to pay heavily for them. They might become heavily indebted leading them into further enslavement. There are those who would go unruly, in search of ways and means to possess material riches and power.

Overemphasizing on romance and relationship, in songs, advertisements, movies, as a whole, they depicted it, as sole food for life, amounted to robbing our souls and spirits from God.

These had almost became the trend of life in this world, if one is to live a life apart from God. In fact, if those under these conditions, had their spiritual eyes opened and willing to yield to God, they would be able to see, that all those pleasures, that they yearn for, were in fact, the ways and means, by which the sinful flesh, co-operated with the Devil, to 'shut the cry' of the souls for mere essential spiritual food, of God's Spirit. We would have done justice to our lives, if we willingly acknowledge our incapability to satisfy the desire of the souls and let God cares and feeds them.

If your hand or your foot makes you lose your faith, cut it off and throw it away!

It is better for you to enter life without a hand or a foot then to keep both hands and feet and be thrown into the eternal fire.

And if your eye makes you lose your faith, take it out and throw it away! It is better for you to enter life with only one eye than to keep both eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell."

Sin is the cause of all falls. All creation fell to the depth of hell after the fall of Adam and Eve. Like wolves entering and feasting in what was once the safe domain of the fragile lambs and sheep.

Sin however small or insignificant deprives a person of a perfect union with God. It separates us from God. It is originated and spread by the Evil Ones. Man is careless and ignored the warnings of God not to listen and obey the Evil Ones.

Sin caused the human life of Jesus. Jesus was born in a manger; became food for His lambs and sheep. Only His Divine Blood can cleanse us from our sins. Only through the consumption of His Body, can we receive the Divinity of God into our lives. God does not hunger for blood of animals or His Son but to reveal to us what great disaster or turmoil sin has brought to us. Mankind in a mysterious way, joined Jesus in His grave to die with Him, so that we could also rise with Him.

The coming of the Messiah showed us, Jesus was truly a human being, just like us, with our human fears and feelings so that He can teach and help us to unite and reach God. To walk with God hand- in- hand, to sit and talk with Him and know that He understands our feelings. To smile at Him and He will smile back, to hug Him and be hugged. To see with our eyes the love and power of God at work in all His creation.

God does not want us to dig out our eyes. He only wants to reveal the truth, that if temporary things like our eyes can cause us to lose the perfect, glorious and eternal life God meant for us, it is better to be blind and to suffer in this life so as to gain eternal joy in the next.

Eyes can be the source of many personal sins. The eyes, could be attracted and refused to detach themselves from the things of this world. They were like windows to our lives. Through the physical eyes, we see the world, as God wants us to, or the sinful flesh. If we were drawn to sinful things, we need to pray, then allow the Spirit, to detach us from any attachments. With our eyes, we can marvel at the wonderful creations and gifts of God, but it can damage our souls too. God wants to use our eyes as His channels to manifest His love and providence towards others, who are His Children.

Jesus is not talking about the pure and goodness, which the eyes can bring about; praise and glory to God, rather the human sinful desires, that would produce its fruit, through the eyes.

The hands, bring about holy works and evil actions too.

God wants to use our hands to bring about consolation to those who need them.

Jesus is not talking about the good works that our hands can produce, but rather evil, which led to the destruction of the souls.

The foot, would walks the way of God, the world, flesh or the Devil. If we are so used to walking the wrong path and refused to return, it is better to live our lives without it.

Therefore these words had a wider and spiritual meanings, not to be taken literally, but only absorbed the pain and agony, if we are physically without them.

Jesus always emphasized over and over again the damage sin does to our souls. He comes to save our souls which are immortal, and to set our priority right. To give eternal life the highest concern in our minds, our concentration and especially our hearts.

'Tie a millstone, be thrown in the deep sea!'

This is suicide. God does not mean this literally but again it is about the evil of sin. It is bad for us to ignore or neglect the pleading of our souls to reach for God's love. It will be even worst to drag the innocence little ones, to commit sins. Little ones are basically classified as those, helpless, dependent and ignorant little people of this world under our control or dominion. Our children, employees, those under our care and guidance, the spiritual, physical, mentally poor, disabled and imprisonment-(restricted movements due to certain constraint, etc).

God chastised us with love, which might be harsh or soft, but those that God hated, who had what Jesus said, 'Sin against the Holy Spirit', would be harshly alienated from God and His people. God will surely punish the guilty ones drastically and without mercy in this life, in the next and on Judgement Day.

Blessing in this life, is not about having everything that the sinful hearts desire. To be blessed can be a call to live a life of deprivation from material goods and trustworthy relationships, which means that the world and its people might became alien to us. It is a life, living apart from the world, manifesting the presence of the 'little helpless child in a manger and suffered in humiliation, as human Jesus had to succumbed in agony, to fulfill the will of God for Him. He had to drink the cup that His Father offered Him. Jesus even asked God, why He had abandoned Him. The fact was that during the moment of agony and pain, whereby His flesh and mind was cruelly torture, He felt a vacuum, that He had never felt before. The Once Almighty God who had manifested His Power and Authority, through Him, was not even willing to console and delivered Him from this anguish, in time when fear seemed to take Him over. He was basically alone, except the three disciples, who were drowned, in their sleep.

After His human will, overcame the desire of His flesh, He yield to God, then all the torment, pain and agony, sprang into great joy, as He journeyed towards fulfilling God's mission for Him. He finally came to accept that this was in fact the 'hour of glory' for Him, as He came for this purpose. He trusted God to glorified Him after He had finished His earthly journey, by saying, "It is finished!". From that moment God took over from Him and He would be on the path to receive back His earthly body, glorified by the Father. Human suffering can no longer has any hold on His life. Yet He still suffers and is one with those whom the Father had chosen since the beginning of time. The 'beginning of time', here means that all souls that were destined to be saved were in fact, willed before 'time' for individual. A call to serve God, is not a coincidence, whereby on the journey of life, we happened to meet God. It had long been willed by God, before we even arrive in this world. Yet man can have their own choice, to follow or refuse.

In fact no one on earth, is condemned to be destroyed, before they arrive into this world, but man had chose self-destruction, if their souls were lost.

Temptations are every where, but God continues to reminds and cautions, His Children, not to leave paradise, but to cling and trust in Him, fully.

Most of us had in many countless occasions, disobeyed His words and tread as our sinful hearts desire. God would still draw us back to Himself, but a time apart from God is in fact hell. We in fact lose out, by doing injustice to the souls, by carelessly and recklessly giving the souls, the Devil's food, when we enter their domain. They cheated and deceive us, just like what happened to Adam and Eve, yet Man can never learn their lessons well.

People who deeply hurt and humiliated God will have to bear the consequences personally.

Will our sins affect the lives of our loved ones, death and those still alive, which includes our parents, spouses, children and their offspring and our ancestors?

God is a merciful and compassionate. Jesus knew and had the mind, heart, soul and Spirit of God. He revealed to us God's essence and Life.

He never punishes, unless He loves, accept the Devil.

We need to continuously offer up prayer for our loved ones, our ancestors and descendents, so that the whole line of our family tree, may be pleasing towards God. We may offered up our love sacrifices, through yielding to the Holy Spirit, sincere participation of Mass, sacrifices of time, energy and material, in order to receive unmerited grace for our loved ones. We must be very cautious, not to be self-centering our prayers, merely for members of our family trees, but for the Church, as a Mystical Body of Christ, and for the whole world, that is still engulfed in sin.

Jesus once revealed to me, through His Holy Spirit, "My daughter, go forth and be My instrument, all else would be in My Hands!". By these assuring words, although with uncertainty and reluctant, I worked the path that God had prepared for me, even before I was born. He showed me a vision of a holy path, with two angels standing, ushering me to walk, and I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Do not worry, my daughter, you shall do the walking and I shall do the planning". That is the reason, why I did not sit down and count the cost, but I just allow the Holy Spirit to move me into action. Another vision I received when trials and mental torments had gotten hold of me; I saw a vision of Jesus Christ, as a King and God. He was on His throne. He looked so huge, as compared to my body size. His face was filled with glory, so I could not see His eyes, nose or face clearly. Jesus beckoned me forward, and without any shame or hesitation, I rushed to Him with the speed of lightning. He took hold of me, by giving me a warm and consoling hug. I experience what the "Lost Son", in Jesus' parable, experienced. Jesus did not wait for me to apologize, for my sins and faults.

All my mental torments, anxieties and despair, disappeared, in a click of a split second. He showed me the world, I lived, with His right hand, outstretched, and said, "My daughter, be my hands, feet and my voice!"

He let go of me, and I rushed back into time. Praise the Lord, for giving me His courage and His Spirit, or else fear would have taken over me.

Before the baptism of the Holy Spirit, I heard the call of God, over a span of few years, until in 1997, it became very obvious. God offered me, His Divine Life, that is the Holy Spirit, who would guide me from truth to truth. He offered to care for those whom I loved and owe, my physical life, including, my beloved husband and children.

After responding to God, with less than words of encouragement to God, He helped me to get up from my fall and led me by my hands, like a cripple taking the first step.

Temptations were all over me, but God was so much powerful and He gave me wisdom, knowledge and understanding, as sword to fight evil. Without Him, I would fall into sins drastically. Jesus is my breath and life, without Him, life is meaningless. I prayed that I will never trade this precious relationship with anything, that is of this world.

Therefore, as the Apostles and Jesus had revealed the truth, so too I would like to join them to remind all followers of Christ, 'Only through the Holy Spirit, can we truly worship God in Truth and in Spirit.' Therefore the mystery of God is within our grasp, as the Holy Spirit, leads and guides us.

Before the baptism of the Holy Spirit, like most of you, I lived with the fear of uncertainty, so anxiety filled me, till I almost succumbed, to the fear of my loved ones. Yet they did not see spiritual battles and spiritual turmoil, from the outside, but inside, God knows; the battle, was ragging hot. There was a voice from my heart that console me, of which I realized was the soft, gentle voice of God, who assured me and my spouse that all the dilemma, that I and my family, had to go through, would soon be over. I trust in His Words, and slowly I began to recognize, much more clearer, the voice of God, as compared to my own voice or the Devil. Praise the Lord for His marvelous and wonderful Gifts of the Holy Spirit. I began to love and welcome the Holy Spirit and His Power, willingly, without fear or uncertainty. Through the Holy Spirit, I was able to love God the Father and Jesus the Son, much better, as I saw, through the presence of His Spirit, the thrice Holy God's expression and response, to my prayers. I praise the Lord, once again. Receiving and allowing the Holy Spirit to take control of my life, was really living a resurrected and life of rebirth in the Spirit.

I saw vision after visions of the real spiritual battles, between God, Devil and my human flesh. I saw how the Devil had no power over me, unless I allowed him. How much the Devil can penetrate or invade our hearts would depend, so much on our Freewill, a Gift from God, this 'will' would not have been necessary at all, if Adam and Eve, till the presence generation, had completely rejected the Devil's participation, in human spiritual history. Heavenly glory would fill the earth, making and sustaining its beauty and wonder. It would be paradise forever, without any suffering of which we experience because of Sin; Original sin, had caused havoc to systems of nature, including disorder in human lives. Personal Sins stir further by agitating the situation, leading to depression, excessive stress, despair, anger, etc, which might be directly or indirectly the cause of various terminal and critical sicknesses.

I saw a vision of how God protect, guide and shield the Mystical Body of Christ, the part that is still under purification on earth and purgatory, whereas the portion that had been totally purified, that is those who had entered heaven, were spared from the invasion by the Devil. In their domain of peace, love and joy, they can calmly pray and intercede, for those still swaying in the strong water current, where waves high and low, were pushing souls, to all directions. Yet! If Jesus was allowed to be the captain of the ship, He had every right and authority, as Natures bow down to His commands, to calm the sea and its waves.

All these visions, of knowledge and understanding, were possible, because God had burst opened my spiritual blindness and partially restore my spiritual sight of God. It would still be veiled, unless full purification and redemption had been accomplished.

Praise the Lord. Amen.
