THE WORD OF LIFE (JOHN 1:1-18)

Before the world was created, the Word already existed, he was with God, and he was the same as God.

From the very beginning the Word was with God.

Through him God made all things; not one thing in all creation was made without him.

The Word was the source of life, and this life brought light to mankind.

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has never put it out.

The Words of God, transmitted to us, revealed clearly; what 'Jesus' truly means.

He is to us, the Second Person in the Trinity of the Divine Godhead, as He proceeds from the Father. He is God and is begotten of the Father. He and the Father are one. He is in the Father and the Father is in Him.

Did God divide Himself into different personalities?

Never was it written or revealed that God divides among Himself, in its respective orders, as we mention. These were merely words or phrase used by Man. Man's limited mind could never grasp the mystery of the Blessed Trinity or Divine Godhead.

God is for all eternity, "I Am, Who I Am", whether He was in the Father, Son or the Holy Spirit.

Why call God the Father, the First Person in the Blessed Trinity?

Before, the creation of anything, seen and unseen, God is the only Authority and Power that existed (First Person in the Blessed Trinity). Then He created the angels and their dwelling place, were with God, in the Spiritual Realm, then He created matters and human beings, together with their dwelling place that is physical. The laws of the Spirit ruled the Spiritual Realm, whereas the laws of nature ruled the physical Realm.

Human beings dwell both in the spiritual and physical realms; thus the laws of the Spirit and natures were applicable to human beings. The souls and spirits that dwell in our flesh were the 'Breathe' or Life of God. They were supposed to bear the fullness of resemblance to God, the source of this spiritual life, but they lost that purity, while dwelling in the physical world. Satan was cast down from heaven, long before the earth and its creatures were created. Adam and Eve, although warned not to entertain, what more to welcome them into paradise, failed to be obedient. Thus while journeying on earth, Man sinned and our physical bodies could not be glorified and be allowed to enter heaven, in our sinful physical state, not until our lives are fully modified. They had to return, from the soil of which they were created. This was the punishment Man inflicted on them selves, not so much as God chasing them from paradise. Liken to the discarding of the dirty clothing of the earth. God will then clothe us with His Spirit and heavenly clothing (Wedding Gowns). At the Second Coming of Jesus, our physical bodies that had been purified would come together, in an amazing manner. Imagine the trauma, agony and pain, which would be involved, in the process of transformation. Therefore, be gracious, we who lived in the moments of grace. We were indeed blessed, as God promised to renew us by His Spirit, even while on earth, so that when we died, our transformation to the 'Image and Likeness' of God, would not be so traumatic.

Then, comes the Second Person in the Blessed Trinity, who was that same God, who is the Father, or the First Person in the Trinity: He entered into His own creature, so as to save those of the same. Man had destroy the friendship with God, thus Man had to mend that relationship. None among the fallen creatures of God could make right, what the first had wronged. So out of the depth of love, God incarnated Himself into Man, and save them.

Even though God had been incarnated into Man, yet He was every where. He created the laws of nature. These laws cannot overpower its creator. Thus even though Jesus as God, was inside a human being, but He is Omni-present.

Then proceed from these two Divine unions of eternal love, comes the Holy Spirit, whom we called the Third Person in the Blessed Trinity. The Third Person is the essence of the First and Second Person, thus the Holy Spirit, is the most powerful. It's the Power of the Father, who created everything; once fallen, but raised through Christ Jesus, the Second Person. Thus the Sin against the Holy Spirit, cannot be forgiven; for this deathly sin is the rejection of Jesus in His two natures; that is human and Divine, together with the complete rejection of the Father, the source of life and creator of everything.

Before the Incarnation of Jesus He was with God and the burning desire of God to save His people was finally realized in Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is God's depth of love. Jesus Christ is the Word of God and He was the promise God made to Himself to save His people. Jesus Christ came to earth with the Heart, Soul and Spirit of God. He took flesh, when the Holy Spirit, entered into His creation, that was time and space and merged with a human cell. That cell was from Mary, not an alien from else where. From that day forth human life and God's Life live in oneness, in the precious womb of Blessed Virgin. Our Blessed Mother, Christ Jesus generously gave to His Church, through the 'hand' of Jesus' beloved Apostle, St. John. God did not merely rent or borrow the womb of Mary, for His Son, or God to live there. But God chose Mary to be the human mother of Jesus, who would nurture and train the human child Jesus to love God, with all His heart, soul, mind and with all His strength. Though Mary could never gave or force that essence of human worship on Jesus, but God gave Jesus the fullness of ability.

Nothing was created without Him. As He is the Word of God, and when God uttered the Word, the whole creation came into being. God would not have created the world without His Word. The Word of God is Spirit. As it moves, the Spirit performs its function according to the will of God the Father. No one who is truly sincere would speak words that contradict his own desires or will. God never contradicts His desires or will, what He wills and desires shall be done. So He utters the words and the Spirit fulfills them.

Jesus Christ is the source of life just as the Father is. The Father and Son are inseparable like bone and its marrow and where soul and spirit merge, no crack or boundary separates them.

When we are spiritually dead because of sin, He comes to restore our lives, as He is the source of life and salvation. He is the Light in the dark; and darkness has never been able to overcome this Light.

The devil, the Prince of Darkness and Deceit, by his evil had brought about massive destruction and damage to the whole world since the fall of Adam and Eve and still haunts, tortures and tries to spread its darkness to the domain of light. The devil would never be able to capture, conquer or overshadow the Light of Christ.

The Light of Christ is the fire of His depth of love and the pains of His sorrowful passion. The devil shall never be able to put out this Light.

God's truth, knowledge, wisdom and understanding have reached the people of this world. Many have accepted, received and welcomed the Word of God in their lives. For those who desire God by cooperating with the prompting of the Holy Spirit in them will not be lost. The Kingdom of God dwells and reigns in unworthy and sinful hearts of men, transforming them to be like Him. This Light stays burning in our hearts, shines like a bright guiding light out of our hearts for others. What God desires was the holiness and perfection of Christ in each one of us. Holiness comes from God alone and perfection comes from our full submission and reliance on God.

John the Baptist was indeed Elijah; came to prepare the way for the coming of Jesus. He came to convert people by baptizing them as a symbol of true Baptism that would come about when Christ died.

To prepare for this future hope the people came to John and received Baptism. Finally during the time of John, the path of Salvation was clearer to the people. The Ten Commandments had roughly directed them to God's way. It was far from being perfect as they observed them merely as rituals and most of the time did not know the significance and ultimate meanings of which they symbolized. The Ten Commandments were strictly followed out of justice rather than love, which they obscured.

Although the Commandment to love God with all of one's heart, soul, mind and strength was only implemented much later, God did tell them of this great Commandment, but it was not only difficult, but impossible for them to accept and practice them.

God understood this, and sent John the Baptist as the final Old Testament's prophet to prepare the way for the coming of God's only Begotten Son, who would be a life giving Spirit to all mankind.

He is the one who shall dwell in the hearts, souls and minds of men and radiates His Light with our cooperation and submission of will to Him. God will not force or even claim back what is actually His own, without our consent.

He gives and respects our freedom and will. John the Baptist came to tell about Jesus Christ. John did not really know who Jesus was. He knew Jesus as an ordinary child, a village boy and a relative of his. He met Him only once in a while, in family reunions or functions but after that both went on their own ways. John never knew that the boy Jesus was the Son of God. He grew up as any ordinary boy, obedient to His parents.

When the time came, it was God's Spirit that empowered John with the gifts of knowledge and courage to proclaim that the Boy Jesus, who had grown up, was the Lamb of God.

Jesus is the true Light, others may be a dim reflection of God's light. Prophets and holy men, throughout history, never claimed to be the Light. All other religions that have their origins from God receive light from God. Though having received the light from God, they may not have used it perfectly or properly. Jesus is the true Light as He is God incarnated into a human being. He received a pure and perfect human nature from His Blessed Mother who was conceived without Original Sin for she is the New Eve, a new being of God. She was purified as she arrived into the world. God prepared a perfect home in the womb of His Blessed Mother and Jesus grew up in an environment God had prepared for Him. A New Family of God, whereby, all families and life need to be a reflection of that New Family life of God; created in the Family of Mary, Joseph and Jesus Christ.

Jesus, the Word of God Incarnate arrived into the world about 2,000 years ago. His Spirit continues to reign from the day of Pentecost until the fulfillment of His mission of salvation and redemption. The world did not recognize Him and do not want to recognize Him, but the devil did recognize Him and the devil was very happy the world was blind.

So who are the victims here? The souls are the victims of our sinful human nature. The sinful pride that had made the Devil, its master, had bonded the souls and pure human spirits. In this bondage and slavery, the conscience could not made righteous and wise decision. The souls and pure human spirits are the essence of God, which dwell in this world, enclosed in human flesh, ruled by time and space.

Despair not! For God had ability to set us free from this bondage, if we only listen to the pleading and cries of the silence souls. If we responded to these stresses, through the grace and mercy of God, who is Jesus Christ, He will come to us in the Power of the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit approaches those who acknowledge their helplessness; He, who is God, would exercise His authority and power. The Devil would abandon their hold on these Children of God.

The people close to Jesus only knew Him as a carpenter's son from a poor family in the village. They did not know all the attention of earth, heaven and hell was focused on this humble and poor family. The mustard seed was growing and receiving good nourishment from the family of Mary and Joseph. The relatives and close families members could not see as well, they were so sure of what they believed in. He was to them an ordinary relative and friend. But when Jesus was baptized and received the Holy Spirit's empowerment of mission; He was a completely new person. He is God, but grew up like an ordinary child obedient to God and men of good will, especially His parents. When the time came for Him to accomplish His mission, it was a big surprise, even our Blessed Mother was astounded that He worked so many miracles and no human being was superior to this Son of hers. She was amazed and praised God for all the wonders and miracles her beloved Son was performing. His steadfast love and obedient to God and His will, suppresses all other obligations and commitments, after His Mission started. As a young child, He was obliged to obey His human parents. Later on His beloved Mother took the backseat and watched the marvels of God revealed and manifested in His Son Jesus Christ.

Though in her heart was a great sorrow that pierced so deeply into the depth of her heart. Jesus was to reach the final stage of His life on earth, in agony and humiliation; shared by mother and son, as had been prophesied by Simeon and Anna. She would have to go through all the pains and sorrows herself, she knew God was with them as they look forward to fulfill God's mission of redemption and salvation. She was going to bear that cross with her Son. The glory her Son received she offered all to God. She is the perfect spouse of the Holy Spirit, a person whom all men must imitate. She is a perfect human being who truly understands our sufferings, pains and our weaknesses. She is not equivalent to her Son, who is God, but her role was to be the New Eve. A victorious Eve that overcame all temptations, the serpent was trampled under her feet, and with her Son they crushed its head. If it should recoup its strength to attack, Jesus and Mary shall crush its head again.

Therefore we have to join the mission of our Blessed Mother and Jesus in crushing the serpent's head as it wakes up to attack God's children.

Some however did receive Jesus and He gave them the right to become God's children. Jesus is the only begotten Son of the Father. He is the second person of the Blessed Trinity, yet when he was on earth He was truly a human being, perfect and unblemished in any way. He had a human nature like all of us, except sin. He had a body, soul and even a human spirit like ours. His human Spirit completely submitted to and obeyed God's Spirit that dwelt in Him.

God too gives us all an opportunity to be like Jesus. We are human beings with sin. Jesus is coming to us to remove our sin from our human self so that all will be like Jesus who is also human but without sin. Jesus comes to deal with our sin, not to judge or condemn. To ratify, redeem, atone, thus made righteous. Only when we are fully like Christ in His His human nature and together with God's Spirit that dwells in us, then, can we enter into the Kingdom of Heaven while on earth and at our death. As we are still on pilgrimage in a strange and foreign land on earth, our veil from the Kingdom of God could be partially removed, through the love and mercy of God. By submission to God, through Jesus Christ, works powerfully by our yielding and trusting in the power of the Holy Spirit. We would be completely veiled from the Kingdom of God, which is our permanent or eternal homeland, together from our heavenly family, if we allowed sin or the Devil to bound, imprison and enslave us. These enslavement, brought about through consuming the 'Forbidden fruits' in the Middle of the Garden. These evil fruits are the most desirous of all other fruits, if we put the human sinful nature first, above our spirits.

If our lives are centered on pleasing the human fallen nature, consumption of the 'Forbidden Fruits' are only natural. These fruits are for the Devil, which we had invited into our hearts and lives. If we start indulging ourselves in cursing, hating or holding others in resentments: Beware! For that is the work of the Devil who had find his home in our lives. This is the foundation, which leads to many more other deathly sins. When Jesus was being offered the 'Forbidden Fruits', by the Devil, when He fasted, forty days and nights, without food or drink: He used the Words of God, spoken and revealed by Prophets and Messengers of God, as weapons to fight off the deceits of the Prince of Darkness.

This is a very tough mission to accomplish and humanly it is impossible. So Jesus Christ gives us His own Spirit to transform us to who He really is. We are not objects or robots of God, He respects our freewill, and only by grace can anyone truly trust and have great faith in God for Him to enter into our lives. The Words of God, as written in the Bible and those passed on orally, are seeds, which would grow into plants, trees and finally harvest the fruits of the Holy Spirit. These Words of God grow well in hearts that are submissive to Him. What is the different between the Gifts and the Fruits of the Holy Spirit? The Gifts are what God gives and the fruits the outcome, through our participation of freewill.

God had showered the plants with rain, sun, moisture, soil and fertilizers. God held in His 'Hands' perfect seeds. He ploughs the field to loosen the soil. He rid the soil of roots, roughage, stones and pebbles. What remained was a field, perfect for seeds of God to grow. He sows the precious seeds onto the field and fenced them from unwanted intruders. He watched over, making sure that they grow. As the sign of young shots appeared, He rejoices and celebrates. He put enough fertilizers, so that they would be nourish. He scatters only the right proportion. As the plants grow into trees, he pruned and trimmed the unwanted branches. They grew well and healthy, full of green and shining leaves. These trees later showed signs of maturity and fruits are to be expected. So the farmer scatters another type of fertilizers, which would brings nourishment for its fruiting processes. As it started to bloom, the farmer rejoices and celebrates with his family.

These fruiting trees would be sustained and well cared for by the farmer.

In baptism of desires, water or blood, or whichever comes first, God showered the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, into our hearts. These Gifts awaits our participation, so to produce positive result, otherwise these moments of grace would be wasted.

So were the Words of God, being sown into the hearts of Man. God, through Instruments and Prophets and finally through Jesus Christ scatter the seeds, from the 'Hand' of God, into time and space. The field, of which these seeds would grow, would be the 'soil' or the hearts of Man. God is going to prepare Man's hearts for His seeds to grow. Man had freedom to work in cohesion with God or the Devil. If we co-operated with God, who was the farmer, who sow seeds through consecrated people; we would serve God's purpose for us. What is the purpose of our lives on earth? What does God expect from His labor?

God channeled His Spirit, through glorified human Jesus, so to restore us into compatibility of hearts to that of human Jesus. God is going to bring more and more human being to share His Kingdom and heaven. He is so generous that none of us who still bears a 'little resemblance' of Him would be lost. That is to say; when the last moment of salvation is almost exhausted, just moment before the Second Coming of Jesus, those who still hunger to be with God would not be lost, but they had to experience extreme agony and pain, before they are allowed entry into heaven.

So if anyone of us seek God's Kingdom above all things is by itself a blessing and grace from God working in us. God has especially chosen us to be His. We are then to live as children of God on pilgrimage on earth. Not many people would like to live like that, but it is a great privilege and blessing to be chosen by our Heavenly Father as children through His grace and Divine Mercy. As the fulfillment of the reward of living our lives, according to the Beatitudes, in purity of hearts, we could see God.

They did not become God's children naturally but God was their Father.

Indeed when we arrived into the world it was through the participation of our parents, but our souls and spirits came from God. Our parents merely bring about the existence of the flesh and God's Spirit spurred our growth. Yet the growth and multiplication of each cell, was the work of God's Spirit, in nature. Rightly He is not merely the Father of only the souls and spirits, but also of the material. God blew His breath on the flesh and it became a living being, far superior to animals.

We became God's children supernaturally, that is through Jesus Christ, the Son of Man, who is One with God; who unites all God's children together in Him, with Him and through Him. In unity of a deep bond of inseparable union we are brothers of our Lord in His Human Nature, and therefore God too accepts us as children of His, born not of human flesh and blood but through the grace of God. Our rebirth was through the water of baptism, or the grave of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are to die to sin and live the 'Life of Christ'. As God only looked with favor and recognized Jesus as His only Begotten Son, so too He would accept and does the same to those who belong and are drawn to Jesus, through His Spirit. Thus uniting us into Jesus' Mystical Body.

Jesus came not only to save souls but the body and spirit as well.

He died for us and gave His own Body and Blood to us through supernatural acts of which men cannot see. By consuming and partaking in the communion of love, we unite ourselves with Christ Jesus, the Son of Man and His Blood and Body transforms us into His own, in holiness.

The Word became a human being full of grace and truth, lived among us. We see His glory as the only Son of the Father. Jesus is full of the Spirit of truth. His disciples were blessed to see the glory of Jesus revealed to them in person. The Word is God and His Spirit, who took flesh in the humble womb of Blessed Virgin Mary.

  1. is glory

He came after me but He was greater than I am, because He existed before I was born.

These words of John the Baptist came not from his own mouth but it was God who convinced him that Jesus was the Son of God. As the only Son of God He is equal to the Father. He possesses all His Father has and John believed Jesus as the Messiah, the Promise of Israel fulfilled. Surely Jesus, though younger than John was greater, because He was God, made Man.

Out of the fullness of grace. He has blessed us all giving us one blessing after another.

Indeed God gives us the best of what He has and John received great blessings as Apostle of Christ. God, after the rejection by Adam and Eve, in His full empowerment in their lives, still loves them, just the same, but they could not face God. They were ashamed to come out into the full presence of God. God called out their names, but they hid themselves in the jungle. They were naked, so God sewed clothes out of leaves for them. Yes! Indeed they were personally responsible for being naked and poor. They were stripped off the fullness of blessing and grace. Not so much, God rejecting them, rather they were too embarrassed to face God, after their disobedience.

God's Heart was greatly hurt, as Man rejected and refused His Divine Love. In moments of hurt, His love never decreases. He did not hold any resentment against Man, but He was working out a perfect plan to salvage the whole human race, if Man wanted to. God sent messengers after messengers as instruments of His to enlighten and set men free from the grip of the Devil.

God gave the Law through Moses but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. The Law of Moses was to prepare them for the coming of Jesus. The Ten Commandments or rules of Man's modification; from being enslaved by the world, devil and their sinful desires to that of heaven, God and God's desires. Christ is the center person in all the Words of God, written in the Scriptures. God prepared the road for His Son to travel or the hearts for the entry of His Spirit. The law of human nature contradicts those of the Spirit. To prepare our lives, so that God's Spirit could moves, require us to paralyze the will of the sinful flesh and its desires. Men could acquire arts to be in power of the human spirits and minds, but could never apply this self-acquired art to the souls and God's Spirit. The only art, that we could apply is submission and reliance on God, not self-acquired but one of the greatest Gift of Faith.

God prepared the ungrateful hearts of the Israelites. It was a tough job and impossible by human standard. The Israelites had traveled with God during and after the crossing of the Red Sea. They witnessed the great and awesome power of God but still, most of them failed to be faithful to God. They worshipped idols. God prepares our hearts so we are able to love Him and others through purified hearts. The Laws of God Divine, thus only with Divine hearts and will can we love God. Jesus is the only human being who has Divine heart. When we welcome Him and enthrone His heart, in the center of ours, then only can we truly love God the Divine way. Through, with and in unity with Christ, His Light and love, would be able to spread to all knots and corners of our sinful lives, so to transform them, into that of Christ. Only when God saw the likeness of Jesus in us, which our Blessed Mother, Mary possessed all; would we be worthy of heaven.

Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life no one can come to God except through Him. Christ Himself spoke these words. God decides to pass on these authorities to His only obedient Son, Jesus Christ, who totally submitted to the Father's will.

No one had seen God. The only Son, who is the same as God and is at the Father's side, he has made him known.

Jesus is truly God and Man. He is the Incarnation of God into a human being. God dwelt among us as Jesus Christ. Working out His plan of salvation and redemption through, with and in Him.

Christ came as a precious seed from Heaven. He came to start God's Kingdom, power and authority on earth. He claimed back what once truly belonged to Him: all men with the breath of God in them. The breath of God is God's Life. He will light up the lamp that had dimmed down, but not all shall be privileged to enter into His Kingdom. Yet all are invited. Only those who had not rejected the grace given by God to them would be able to see the way that leads to the Kingdom of God. Though our physical eyes are blind to the vision of God, but our spiritual eyes are open and we see God and Christ together with the angels and saints. They have trusting and submissive hearts to follow the leadership and Lordship of Christ.

Jesus came from the Father. He is the only One who has seen the Father and the Father was always with Him along His human journey of life.

The Divine Nature of Jesus joined with the same of the human, when Mary consented, by saying, "I am the handmaid of the Lord. Let it be done unto me, according to thy will!"

Man must always be grateful and remember those words of Mary.

God had every power to choose whoever He pleases to be this 'woman', who would crush the serpent's head, but it just happened that this 'Mary', was chosen. With God's far-sightedness and wisdom of choice, all of God's creature, therefore must bow down to God's decision, and acknowledge Mary as the Mother of God. Even though she was merely the mother of human Jesus, but because Christ had won the victory, God rewarded human Jesus with the title as God. God from that moment forth reigned through Christ Jesus, as far as salvation of the souls is concerned. This honor, Mary's beloved Son, Jesus Christ gave to His mother Mary, too. Therefore God, through Jesus Christ, raised and honored her as Queen of all saints on earth and heaven, by glorification of her human body. Mary then and now, reigned with her Son, Jesus Christ, in her heart, soul, mind and spirit. Whatever decision Jesus made is the same to Mary. She will support His Son Jesus Christ all the way, until His Second Coming. After that all of us shall acknowledged Mary as our Queen and Mother. She humbled herself, by not claiming the title and honor for herself, but her mission revealed them all, as her heart is the same as that of her Son, Jesus Christ.

In prayers and communions, our ultimate goal, which is similar to Jesus is to reach and be at peace with God. The saints and angels are channels, likened to 'little doors', leading us to the 'Main Door', that is the Door of Jesus' Sacred Heart. Through His Divine and Glorified Human Heart, we enter into the Kingdom of God the Father.

Worshipping of God, by words, must be from the sincere disposition of the hearts. With Jesus enthroned in our lives, we could fulfill the Will of God. The prayers of Jesus, had never been rejected by God, so are those who prayed in submission to His Spirit. For the Son of Man, Jesus Christ had proven and shown His depth of Love for God the Father. Therefore with His Spirit enthroned as King of our lives, our prayer answered and praises pleasing to God. Mary's role is to bring us to Jesus Christ; firstly through His human nature, then His Divine, yet that was simultaneously, as His human spirit, after glorification, could not be separated from His Divine Spirit.

To stay put in the arms of Mary, by refusing to be shown Christ and His Spirit, was never the will of God, so the same of Mary. For her mission, in alliance with her Son Jesus Christ was to bring Children of God to Him (God).

Glory, praise and thanks to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen
