This special angel was made for a friend. He
ordered it special for his wife's Christmas present. I normally do not
do angels. I know i know....many can't see the difference between an angel
from a fairy or sprite. Well let me say, it is a whole mind set when you
are making it and yes it DOES make a big difference. I enjoyed making Glenda
for her namesake, and very happy that Glenda is now in the home she was
made for and very much loved.
The following is the letter I wrote
him to let him know she was done, and for him to view her. It will give
you an idea of what goes into an order and trying to follow specifics,
also it best decribes her.
I had set up the webpage for him to
view it instead of just sending it via email.
Hiya Karl,
Well this is Glenda.
I have provided pictures of all sides to her, just getting one straight
on of the front many times doesn't show the detail.
You said you wanted
a blue dress, i wasn't sure what blue, but I thought a nice Pearl blue
would look good, her cape is pearl white with gold designs. i found some
neat wings for her, they are gold cloth....Her cape has a little "diamond"
rhinestone to look like it keeps it close. ...I did decide to give her
a halo, I thought it would look good against the dark hair. The hair is
of clay as you asked....which makes the halo stand out better than if it
had been fake hair. I have her kneeling on a "cloud" , she is attached
to the cloud, so when picking her up, use the base...though the glue I
use is a jeweler's glue and very strong, I would hate to take chance of
her breaking from a drop. She has a white dove perched on her hands....ok,
I TRIED and TRIED to sculpt one that small...*LOL* .....but none to my
satisfaction...so I did find the perfect sized dove to fit on her hands.
Her eyes are dark blue glass beads. And as you can see she has painted
details on her face. She is about 4 1/2" tall..including the halo and cloud....by....3
3/4"x 3 3/4" (base)
Well, here are her piccys
*:O)
Please note-- The light
played havoc on her pearlized 'clothes" so some of the picture might look
washed out or distorted, the light reflected a lot no matter what i did
*L*
Well, hope ya
like her..she was fun to make. Just email me whenever ya can to let me
know if she is a keeper or not *L*
Sincerely, Bonnie

Glenda was the last of my Wee BonnieLees to be photographed before the camera died.
