I am 27 years old and the mother of an almost-New Year's Baby, born January 2, 2000. I live in Portage, Wisconsin, a small town just north of Madison, with my husband and our son.

In December of 1999, I received my bachelors degree in education. I am licensed by the State of Wisconsin to teach preschool through third grade. During my college years, I had experiences teaching in all the grades I am licensed for, with the exception of first grade. After a semester of student teaching at the University of Wisconsin Preschool Laboratory, I was hired as an assistant and lead teacher for the summer. This was a great experience for me (except for the morning sickness!), as preschool is one of my favorite ages.

In June of 2000, I became certified by Columbia County to provide family day care. My certification allows me to care for up to three children under the age of seven and two additional children over the age of seven.

My plan right now is to specialize in infant and toddler care. In order to help me provide the highest possible quality of care, I have enrolled in a continuing education course through UW-Extension which concentrates on infant and toddler care.

I am also in the process of becoming a state licensed family day care provider. I expect to be licensed by the end of the year.

In my free time (what's that?) I enjoy reading, long walks, home improvement projects, and, of course, playing with my beautiful little boy.
