It was a night of filmmaking on the fly, a movie for the moment. On a summer night about a year ago, Weeds patrons participated in a strange experiment ... that didn't involve tequila! Involving poets and members of the audience, a largely improvised movie was created in ONE NIGHT. The would-be stars traveled to several locations in the city, as well as to the handy-dandy beer garden at Weeds, to film a story of love, betrayal, booze and politics. It was a crazy night that seemed as disjoined as a Bush cabinet meeting. No editing, no special lighting, no sound tweaking. But with a little prodding from our director/producer/writer, these would-be thespians made a film for the ages (the Bronze Age, specifically, but hey...) Anyway, judge for yourself if the final results are anything worth writing home about...
Incidentially, the guy with the straw hat in the early scenes was the brains behind this endeavor and we apologize for forgetting his name. If anyone knows, please emailus so we can give him credit .. or blame as the case may be... |
