About Ms Yvette

My name is Yvette Fontenot. I am married to a wonderful man and have four children (ages 15 to 4). I currently live in Watertown, New York, where my husband is stationed (Fort Drum). We have been here for one and a half years and will be for perhaps another year..

I am provisionally certified as a FCC (Family Child Care) provider for Ft Drum and the surrounding area, consisting of Watertown, Carthage, Lowville, and several smaller communities. In addition, I am undergoing constant training to further my career and knowledge in child care; and intend to gain my CDA one day. Besides being certified as a FCC provider, I also have certifications in CPR, first aid, and USDA.

For your assurance and trust, I am inspected unannounced by the safety office, health office, fire marshal, and FCC leadership. These inspections help ensure that your child is receiving the very best care possible under satisfactory-above standard-conditions.

Though if done vigorously a person could make a couple of dollars in this business, I am not one to raise the bar and use FCC to gain wealth. I have four kids, and love them to death. I love all kids. I enjoy spending time with them. I've found that no matter how old a person may think they are, they will never outgrow the imagination of a child. Children are my life. I wouldn't want it any other way.

Contract and Policies

  1. HOURS OF OPERATION

    1. Monday to Friday, 6am to 6pm (0600 - 1800)
    2. There is no daycare provided on weekends and holidays (federal and training).  Holidays are defined by those observed by the 1st BSTB (my husband’s unit).  In addition, I observe Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve as holidays.
    3. Due to the fact that many units do not observe the same training holidays, parents will be given a two week notice on those that affect my daycare services.
    4. Each summer, I take a two week period to spend time with family.  During this time, my daycare will be closed.  I will provide the parent(s) with adequate notice in this regard.

  1. WEEKLY FEES

    1. Full Time (29 to 55 hours)

         4mos to 12yrs = $100

    1. Part Time (29 hours or less)

4mos to 12yrs = $80

If your child is school age and in my care during non-school days, the full rate applies.

    1. Hourly

Flat rate = $3.00 per hour.  Each additional child in the same family is a $1.50 increase.

  1. DAYCARE SUBSIDY

    1. Parents who qualify for daycare subsidy must have full approval by Central Registration prior to enrolling child into my daycare.

  1. PAYMENT POLICY

    1. Parents agree that all weekly fees (full time and part time) will be paid on the morning of the first day of each week.
    2. Hourly fees are due at the time services are rendered.
    3. Cash is the only method of payment accepted.  Parents will be given a receipt for tax purposes.
    4. If payment is late, a $15 fee per day is charged.  Failure to pay after three calendar days will result in your commander/1SG being notified for collection purposes.  In addition, your contract will be terminated.

  1. LATE ARRIVAL/PICKUP POLICY

    1. Parents are responsible for notifying me prior to 7am if their child will be arriving late.
    2. Parents will advise me immediately if they will be arriving later than 6pm to pick up their child.
    3. Parents must ensure that their children are picked up by 6pm.  If parents are unable to do this themselves, alternate arrangements must be made.  My hours of operation are between 6am and 6pm.
    4. Parents must provide in writing names of persons that are permitted to pick up their children in case the parents are unable.  These persons will be contacted (if parents are unreachable) if children have not been picked up by 6:15pm.
    5. A fee of $3 will be applied per 15 minutes the parents are late in picking up their child.  Late is any pick up after 6:05pm.
    6. After 6pm, if a child remains in my care and no one has called or been reached, I will contact the parent’s unit and post MP’s.
    7. Inability of a parent to pick up their child in a timely manner will not be tolerated, and may result in suspension or termination of contract.

  1. ILLNESS POLICY

    1. Parents must advise me prior to 7am if their child will not be attending daycare due to illness.
    2. Your child will be excluded from my home if he/she has a contagious disease, is unable to participate in daily activities, or has a fever of 100 degrees for a child under the age of 3 months, or 101 degrees for a child over the age of 3 months.
    3. When parents are called to pick up their child, please arrive in a timely manner.  Your child may return to my home when he/she is symptom free for 24 hours and/or with a doctor’s clearance.

  1. TERMINATION

    1. Family Childcare reserves the right to suspend or terminate care of any child without notice, should it be deemed necessary for the overall safety and well-being of my family and/or other children in my care..
    2. A two week trial is given to ensure compatibility between your child and the care I give.  If either party is unsatisfied at any time during the trial period, the contract can/will be terminated.
    3. After the two week trial period, either party may terminate with a two week notice.  If this notice is not given, payments will be forfeited or refunded accordingly to cover this two week period
    4. The parent will be responsible for the replacement of any toys or items their child breaks while in my care.

  1. EMERGENCIES

    1. Medical - I will administer first aid or CPR as needed and/or call emergency services if necessary.  I will then contact the parents and the FCC office as soon as possible.  Parents are responsible for any expenses incurred at the time of an accident and/or treatment, if medical attention is required.
    2. Fire - An evacuation plan is posted.  I conduct fire drills on a monthly basis, and when a new child starts in my home.
    3. Disaster - Plan is posted.

    1. Parents are responsible for administering medication for the first 24 hours.
