Brand New's first album, Your Favorite Weapon, was very generic, it was good but there wasn't anything too special about it. Their second album, Deja Entendu, is much deeper than Your Favorite Weapon and has lyrics that rival even Conor Oberst's (Bright Eyes). The songs are much more meaningful and much more memorable. The instruments that are played on Deja Entendu are very dark but are still played wonderfully. The bass is deep and scary, especially on Okay I Believe You, But |
My Tommy Gun Don't. The songs on this CD have so many different hooks, some are slow and some are fast but they're all great. The singing is very good but the lyrics are the best aprt of Deja. They are so creative and so intelligent that listening to them makes you want to be able to write them. Deja Entendu is a great CD that should be on any rock fans' shelf. Deja is not just a great rock album but is also an album that should be listened to by any music fan. This CD may take a while to warm up to at first but once you listen to it a few times, you'll really enjoy it. -Written by Jesse |
