MVP Baseball 2005 Is A Grand Slam
If you're considering buying a baseball video game this year and you're not sure which one to open the wallet for, let me make the choice for you: MVP Baseball 2005. MVP's third edition is clearly the best and blows away the leading competitor, 2K Games' (formerly ESPN Videogames) Major League Baseball 2K5. This year's edition features the same gameplay as last years, with exception to a few color changes. The controls are exactly the same as the last game, the easiest controls to learn of any sports game out there. The commentary is exactly the same as MVP Baseball

2004 (most in-game features are) and so are the scoreboard, pause menu, pitching and throwing meters and stat overlay. New features in MVP 2005 are limited but what is there really stands out. In MVP 2005 you can create a ballpark and customize everything from concession prices to seating arrangements to the pattern the grass is cut in. This feature is pretty cool but isn't anything to get too excited about in the new Owner Mode because it will be verfy hard to get out of debt at the beginning. The new Owner Mode is basically the well-known and popular Franchise Mode with a new option. In the 'Owner's Box,' you can set ticket prices, buy upgrades and customize all aspects of your created ballpark from restaurants to fan stores and from luxury boxes to bleachers. The EA Sports Hitter's Eye is cool enough but definitely isn't worth all the hype. The bottom line is that MVP Baseball 2005 is the best baseball game available. There aren't too many new additions to MVP but that isn't a bad thing. The changes that were made weren't necessary but they do make it a better game. This game is not very far from perfect and also adds a superb soundtrack to an already amazing game. 9.5/10 -Written by Jesse
