Dear Editor:

Letter to PDP and INEC

I would like to use you medium to bring to the notice of the public that we members of Ijaw Nation in the United States are writing to the PDP Chairman, INEC Chairman, President Obasanjo and others concerning the resolve of Ijaws to have free and fair elections regardless of who the candidates are. We want to put the party leaders and INEC on notice that we would do all in our power to resist the imposition of any candidate on us that does not have our collective interest and we shall be particularly opposed to the imposition of Governor Alamieyeseigha on us for a second term as governor since he caters to the interests of the Abuja elite and not that of the Ijaws.

Things are heating up in Nigeria and we want to begin our efforts by putting the hierarchy on notice that we intend to figh for candidates that have the inerest of Ijawland first and foremost in the upcoming elections. I urge all Ijaws to join in this struggle.

Titoe Miriki
