Welcome to Sundowner Gun Dog Kennel |
Sundowner Kennel is dedicated to raising quality companion and hunting dogs. We started our weimaraner kennel several years ago in Wyoming with Scooby and CJ, and Maggie and her sister, Ellie. Unfortunately, Ellie was killed by a car on Christmas Eve, 1999. We do miss her, but she had a gorgeous litter of puppies, and her lines are still being carried on by Maggie. Mags is now 2 1/2 and has had 2 beautiful litters of puppies by Scooby. Scoob is our resident hunk. He's about 130 lbs when he's at his peak weight. CJ has now been retired from kennel life and will soon enjoy being the shop dog and pet. We added Gracie to our kennel a year ago. She's a blue weim and should give us some beautiful babies, too. Our newest additions to our weim family are 2 of Maggie & Scooby's grandkids.... Vegas and Reno. They came from Rapid City. Their mom, Jocie, was from Maggie's first litter, and was an excellent hunter from a very early age. The sire of Vegas and Reno is a spectacular blue weim named Magnus and his line is a super addition to our bloodlines. We also got Cally at the same time we got Vegas and Reno. Cally comes from Colorado and is Gracie's full sister. Our friends, Brenda and Rob Baar, have Rebel, CJ & Scooby's last male. Rebel is just like his dad and is a wonderful dog! Last year, I fell in love with Cavaliers. Jack surprised me with my first one, Bree. Since then, we've added Duncan and Abby. Abby and Duncan had their first litter on April 7, 2002. Tux, Poppy, and Hyacinth are 3 of the cutest little babies I've ever seen! We are definitely adding Poppy and Hyacinth (Cinny) to the kennel, but may sell Tux. It all depends on if I can part with him!!! On June 22, 2002, we drove to Minnesota and got 2 Irish Red & White setters..... Bally and Doobie. We are so excited about these additions and can hardly wait to start working with them. They are more reserved than Vegas, Reno, and Cally, but they fit in well with their new friends. The big news at our place is that we're in the process of building a new, bigger, better kennel for our dogs! They will now have excellent facilities and an indoor training area for winter months. Debra Moore has been added to our staff and is coming every day to work with our dogs. She takes excellent care of them and loves them almost as much as we do. So... lots of things are happening at our place. Please check back often to see new pictures of Vegas, Reno, Cally, Bally, Doobie, Poppy, Tux, and Hyacinth as well as our "big dogs". |
