A Poem by Keith Moon
written by Jo-Keith
Dictionary helping me
look for rhymes in words I see
To write a song of depth and meaning
That will pass that buzzard Pete's tough screening
A song to be the Who's next hit
And not make me look like some bleedin' git
So help me please kind book of Rhymes
Before I do run out of time
Where's my Boris or Jack so Happy
I wish I pray for something snappy
A song that has the push to be
Better than that song of the miles I can see
Eyes of Girl or happy campy Welcome
And even better than Under My Thumb
But that wasn't even Pete it was Mick
To make the Who sound like the Stones would be sick
I should know better than to write when I'm drunk
Then I wouldn't be pumping out all of this junk
Where is the Grand rock opera for Keith
My cash prizes
my rose
My wreath
Why can't I be good at the songs
A great arrangement with beautiful throngs
Though Townshend really does do a beautiful job
He is famous for being a musical snob
His lyrics help make the Who who they are
Changing ale and eelpie to champagne and caviar
So on that I'll be content and devout
So for now I'll just go over there and pass out
