2992 N.E. Coal Valley Road
At approximately 6:00am on November 7, 2005, Weir Vol. Fire Dept. responded as mutual aid to a structure fire at 2992 N.E. Coal Valley Road.

Firefighters encountered the structure fully envolved throughout the ground floor and venting from 50% of the roof.  Mutual aid was received from West Mineral Fire, Columbus Fire, and Cherokee City Fire.  The fire was in the Cherokee Township Fire Dept.'s response area.  Firefighters fought the fire during a thunderstorm.

The residence was struck by lightning causing an extremely fast-moving and hot inferno.  The residence suffered extreme damage; the basement sustained only water and smoke damage.
