"Strong Enough"
Chapter One
Reba's eyes squinted and strained to try to keep the blinding sunlight away.  She arose from her bed, shielding her eyes with her hand, until she reached the window.  The dark curtains were then pulled together with an almost violent force.
She hung her head in pain, as her mind had been reeling the night before.  Her long-time boyfriend, Anthony, had abruptly ended their love, which left Reba thinking why, and how it must've been her fault.
As she brought a hand to her forehead to try and stop the throbbing, she spoke quietly to herself, "I'm sure that getting hammered last night isn't going to help
this headache."
The phone in her room began to ring, but Reba hesitated before answering.  She looked at the clock, and it was far too early for anyone to be calling.  Well, almost anyone, except for the one person who knew her inside and out.
She paused as she picked up the receiver, then began in a tired, zombie-like voice.  "...Hello?"
"Hello, and good morning!  I'm a representative from.."
"Ma'am, I'm not interested," Reba stated in an annoyed tone, then quickly hung up.  "Damn telemarketers..."
She was actually hoping that it would've been him, though; she wanted her questions to be answered by that ass, no matter if the answers where terrible ones.  "I bet it was another woman, and I was just his stay-at-home entertainment," she said aloud.  For now, though, she tried to sleep again, to escape her worries and rage temporarily.
