1-POUND LOAF INGREDIENTS 1/3 cup milk 1/4 cup water 1 teaspoon SPICE ISLANDS Pure Vanilla Extract 1 tablespoon butter or margarine, cut up 1 large egg 3/4 teaspoon salt 2 cups bread flour 1/4 cup chopped candied fruits and peels, drained of syrup 1/4 cup coarsely chopped almonds, toasted (see How to Toast Nuts tip below) 1 tablespoon sugar 1 teaspoon finely shredded orange peel 1 teaspoon finely shredded lemon peel 1 1/2 teaspoons FLEISCHMANN'S Bread Machine Yeast |

Add all ingredients except icing to bread machine pan in the order suggested by manufacturer, adding fruits and peels and almonds with flour. Drizzle cooled bread with Almond Icing. Note: Use the 1-pound recipe if your machine pan holds 10 cups or less of water. In large capacity machines with glass domes, make only 1-pound loaf size to ensure complete baking. Almond Icing: Stir together 1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar, 1/4 teaspoon DURKEE Almond Extract, and enough milk (2 to 3 teaspoons) to make icing of drizzling consistency. Recommended cycle: Basic/white bread cycle; light or medium/normal color setting. |
