Death Row was Labelled the most notorious  record label in america Suge Knight a former american footballer a 6'3 over 300 pound giant who gre up in a blood neighbourhood in compton L.A. At first suge was neither a crip or blood but as he got older he started to get more involved after dropping out of collage he went in to being a bodygaurd and a doorman on nightclubs. Bodygaurding Bobby Brown before he married whitney houston, Suge learnt the music trade and became friends with The D.O.C,  Suge told The D.O.C. that he was interested in starting up his own label and first asked him to sign but The D.O.C had a deal at ruthless records with Eazy E. The D.O.C helped out suge anyway by introducing him to a rapper/songwriter that goes by the name of chocolate Suge and chcocolate became close friends.altough suge was a blood and Chocolate was a crip there was no beef. Suge liked chocolate that much he even went to extort Vanilla Ice for money that he owed Chocolate for songs that he wrote for Vanilla Ice and had recieved no pay off from especially 'Ice Ice baby' Unfortionatly for suge at the time Funky Enough records went under. Suge was now desprate to get back into the music industry and saw his long time fric the D.O.C. as his ticket trying to turn the D.O.C against eazy  he also had other plans cos the D.O.C. was on Ruthless records and ruthless had the best producer at the time, DR.Dre  so suge had to turn the D.O.C. and then get him to turn Dre. At first it was hopeless Dre was a member of NWA  and Thee D.O.C. didnt wanna go from deal to a deal when everything works out. Then the D.O.C. was in a car accident uge was his one and only visitor most of the time he was like family he was there that much so now seeing how much Eazy cared The D.O.C decided to take suge up on his offer and leave but he wasnt goin no where unless he took his other Close friend Dre with him. After Ice Cube left NWA and ruthless records NWA started to fall apart and dre wanted to leave ruthless on a poor contract dre wanted out but eazy was unwilling to let dre go so dre left refusing to let him go eazy wouldnt let dre work for no one else. Dre and suge hooked up and formed futureshock Records at that moment in time futurshock was a unofficial company  that got studio time of Dick Griffey the solar records CEO Suge got 213 a group that consisted of Warren G, Snoop and nate dogg. Still Unwilling to let dre michell'e or D.O.C. go ruthless and sony who was going to be a distributor at the time got a deal where dre produced 3 albums for ruthless  so  dnoop and dre hit out on the deep cover STD, a Sony release that had been included in Dres deal. Without the money to make futureshock official  suge needed some funding  in teh beginning there was 4 partners; Dick Griffey, Suge Knight, Dr Dre and The D.O.C But needing fmore money suge went to Micheal Harris a man behind bars for drug trafficing a man who is denied parole until 2009 Suge told Harris that they would be equal parters for about 1.5 mill Harris complied ont he condition that his lawyer and his wife represented him on the label. The other part of the deal was that the money that harris gave suge would form GF entertainment wich would be a distrubutor for different types of entertainment and 1 division would be Death Row Records (formerly Futureshock records) but what Harry-o (micheal harris) or david griffey didnt see coming is that kenner and suge would push them out of the picture GF entertainment was gone and suge took all teh money and ran. Now Death Row Records was made official they needed a distrubutor , 2 years after leaving ruthless records Dres new and debut solo album was complete sony refused to distrubute it so death row had to look elsewhere and they found interscope records who at the time had just signed 2pac interscope agreed to distribute and The Chronic was a worldwide hit. A year later in 1994 Snoop Doggy Doggs first album Doggystyle was released that ousold  The chronic, Next for death row was 2 soundtracks Murder was the case and Above the rim Then the Dogg Pound album came out which didnt compete with either the chronic or doggystyle . In November 94 2pac was shot 5 times In a recording studio in New york he lsot a testicle and was also jailed. 2pacs bail was set at 1.5 million and in september 95 suge payed that and bailed him out 2pac flew to L.A. that nigtt and layed down the first track for  Death rows biggest hit All Eyez on Me whcih sold well over 5 million. soon enough dre didnt like what his label had become and left death rwo to form aftermath, Suge didnt care though because 2pac was making him more than dre did  in september 96 in las vegas after a mike tyson fight 2pac got involved in a fight  adn suge said he was trying to break up being on probation for 8 different charges already,  later that night 2pac was shot 5 times  and suge got jailed after 2pacs death eventually the FBI started to look into death row records. after catching wind that The label was funded by drug money. The label started to lose its artists fast and eventually lost everything decent the label had but  Now Renamed to Tha Row the label is up and runnng again suge is out of prison after a 5 year strech and has signed lis 'Left eye' Lopez wholl go by the name on NINA  to the label and has also resigned Kurupt to the Label
