Karl and Jane's Volkswagons

OUR STORY---Jane and I are the happy owners of a !972 Westfalia camper, a.k.a. Hansie! Hansie is a beautiful butterscotch camper in excellent condition, but he has come a long way. When we first spotted Hansie it was behind a bar being used as a dog house!! Thank god the dog did not smell, but boy was he hairy! It took Jane and I about three weeks to clean out the inside!!! In the process we had to replace the foam and the covering on the rear seat, replace the curtains, and front seat covers. All the the rest of the interior is original and in excellent shape. as far as the motor, we had to replace it with a rebuilt unit. We also put on four new tires, a battery, and new window and door seals. I replaced the canvas on the pop-top, they told me it would take six hours, they were right!!!!! Hansie has an awning which matches the interior curtains it measures 10X7 and comes in handy when we camp and show. All the work was done by us at home with lots of enjoyment and $$$$$$$$$!!!!.
*Karl and Jane also own a 2000 GLS beetle the color of this type, a '72 bug and a glass buggy. Karl has owned many other VW's since the age of 12, his first being a '56 oval window. Jane's first car was a '69 red beetle, but it was piece of junk.
