Provide Security Through Blankets

| Warming Families is a new crafting project to get everyone involved in helping to provide handmade blankets, crib, twin, lapghans (knitted, crocheted, or quilted), hats, scarves, slippers, socks, or mittens/gloves, etc. for the homeless families at shelters, nursing & care homes, domestic abuse shelters, & foster care facilities. |

I'm sure one way or the other all of us have been touched by homelessness.
I live in Western Canada where winters can be very cold. I am very much aware of ALL the problems around us. What can I possibly do, or what can we all do to make a difference?
Last year around Christmas time I was coming home and I saw a man all curled up in a corner who was obviously cold. I know I can't do much for the whole world but I know I can make a difference in someone's life by making a warm blanket or whatever is needed for a person.
That's how I would like to begin. |

HOW TO HELP |

| We need volunteers to donate their skills and time to make warm items. We accept completed blankets, crib, twin lapghans (knitted, crocheted, or quilted), hats, scarves, mittens/gloves, slippers, socks, gloves etc. as well as 6" and 12" crocheted squares. If you have a blanket or any other warm item listed above to donate, email me and I will give you my mailing address. |

| Secondly, there are several ways you are able to help this worthy cause. Fist of all, if you cannot or are not able to knit, crochet or quilt the blankets or any of the items listed, then maybe you can donate the yarn and or the necessary materials to make them and let the ones that do have the time or know how to make the warm blankets and the other items. Any amount, large or small is very much needed. Please give the gift that they need to stay warm. They will appreciate this so much! |

| Lastly, we all like that warm fuzzy feeling you get when you do something nice or can help out in any way possible. The little bit of time and effort that it takes us to make them will come back to us tenfold! Every effort is greatly appreciated by the ones in need. |
