Once Upon a Time I Had a Date at the Sign of the Dove

The Sign of the Dove Restaurant

In November 1976, Brian took me to the Sign of the Dove Restaurant on Third Avenue in New York City. I lived on East 85th Street at the time and, as a New Yorker, would never have considered eating there; it's strictly for tourists. While beautiful, there are too many very nice and less expensive places. I did enjoy it though.

The Sign of the Dove claims to go back to 1757 when Third Avenue was called the Boston Post Road. This picture is of the Conservatory Dining Room with its sliding glass cupola for alfresco dining.
