Lovel and Barnes family Dear Elizabeth, thank you so much for responding. I am very new at this venture and am finding the internet the most wonderful tool in my search, and the people involved with genealogical studies have been so very helpful. Thank you also for your additional information. You are right, Stephen Lovel did marry Susanna Barrett Barnes, daughter of Benjamin Robert and Frances Mary Gleeson. Benjamin and Frances Mary had 5 children, Susanna was the fourth born child (and daughter), followed by Benjamin Robert born in 1860. Frances Mary died in 1861 and Benjamin Robert married Susannah Clark in 1863. He and Susannah had 3 children, Charles John, William and Sarah Ann. My great grandparents, Stephen Lovel and Susanna Barnes settled in Bealiba and had 11 children. One of their daughters, Mary Ann Lovel, married James Stanley Henderson and they moved to Western Australia after the birth of their first daughter Veda. They had four children altogether (2 boys and 2 girls). My mother, Ruth Henderson, was their 3rd born child. Again, thank you so much for getting back to me. Jeanne Mansbridge.
