Forgiven

Alone they sit amongst the stone figures, of a time long past by you and me.
Confined to the night like a prisoner in a seemingly empty eternity.
The pigeons roost by their feet, and care not of the terror within.
As they stalk their prey in shadowed night to feed and kill again.
With pale eyes of green and red to see through the night that's come at last,
he leaps, and bites....blood pours, the hunger dies.
He shouts, "Oh God, how long will this hell last?".
A ray of sun gleams through the city.
No time to kill, he must go fast.
Off to the tomb that keeps his soul safe for the day to hide his past.
Come one morning, as light shine through, his soul shall be set free, at last.
The hunter is now the hunted.
For him this day will be his last.
Armed with holy water, stakes of pine, and crosses that line the walls;
they open his world, and with a blow our Savior his name calls....
He sees the light, it's warm embrace.
Heaven has called him home.
The vampyre that once stalked the land no longer has to roam.....
