SAMPLE MESSAGE TO SEND TO SISTER ALUMNAE
Please consider signing the alumnae petition questioning / protesting the Board's 10/2/04 decision to make Wells College fully co-educational by August 2005.
The petition is a powerful communications tool. It offers support to students and parents, and demonstrates to the administration and the media that there is widespread concern among alumnae about the nature and timing of this decision. It has over 750 names now, ranging through the Classes of 1937 to 2004.
Even alumnae willing to accept the possible eventuality of coeducation in some degree are signing.
They share serious reservations about the lack of community input on the decision, the suddenness of the reversal of the college's historic mission, the extremely narrow time frame allowed for implementation, and the viability of the college during this brutally abrupt transition without any strategic plan in place.
For more information and a copy of the petition, please go to:

To sign the petition, simply send an email to [WellsCollegePetition@yahoo.com] with your full name and class year stating, "I sign the alumnae petition on coeducation."
Thank you.
