Synopsis: Based on the US War Machine series by Chuck Austin, which retells the story of Jim Rhodes. After being fired by Tony Stark for excessive force against an AIM unit, Rhodey is hired by S.H.I.E.L.D, who have manufactured their own versions of the War Machine armour. Rhodey must assemble a team of S.H.I.E.L.D operatives and whip them into shape in order to become military outfit of War Machines in order to take on AIM in the Doom-ruled territory of Latveria.
Observations:
The US War Machine story is rather more graphic than your usual Iron Man story. Lots of violence, profanity and some nudity.
Patronising lines:
"What were you going to do? Post it on ebay?" - Jim Rhodes
"I said 'yeah?' not come in!" - Shiva Josephs to Jim Rhodes when he walks in on her naked.
Sadism:
Plenty - an AIM operative gets his brains blown out. Also, lots of torture and biological warfare. Dr Doom has the AIM scientist executed at the end. |
