Here are the movies I have seen in the theatre in 2001 with my opinions on them: Rating are from 1 (worst) to 10 (best)
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (Subtitles) Chow Yun Fat, Michelle Yeoh A tale of good versus evil set in feudal China. Two skilled warriors must postpone their retirement and relationship to fight evil one more time. This is the type of martial arts movie I really like. This movie has some amazing fight scenes, great locations and costumes and the story has many dimensions also. The acting is very subtle and the characters are believable.

Traffic Michael Douglas, Don Cheadle The waste generated by the US Government's war on drugs is illustrated by the weaving of several lives of those involved in this war. Traffic has many classic crime movie components. Amazing characters, ruthless conduct and unexpected twists. Benicio del Torro is amazing in this film and is quickly becoming my favourite actor. Excellent directing and story.
Snatch Brad Pitt, Dennis Farina Low life criminals' paths cross in pursuit of a giant diamond. Simply an amazing piece of work. Fast paced, cutting edge, and violent, this film is a bit slow in the start but once the story starts develloping, it doesn't stop. The cast is brilliant in a story so well developed that it could carry itself. If you like 'Pulp Fiction' then you must see this movie.

Saving Silverman Jason Biggs, Amanda Peet A couple of friends kidnap their buddy's bitchy girlfriend. Another teen movie that attempts but fails to capture the magic that was 'American Pie'. It is not completely devoid of funny moments but is at very best a rainy day rental.

Shadow Of The Vampire John Malkovich, Willem Dafoe A fictional account of the story behind the classic film 'Nosferatu'. The concept of the film is very inticing, and it starts out very well. The movie then becomes very predictable and the plot twists are not very creative. The acting is phenominal. Malkovich is very convincing and Dafoe is nothing less than incredible. Worth seeing but don't take the day off work.
Enemy at the Gates Jude Law, Joseph Fiennes It's sniper vs. sniper in the battle of Stalingrad. A great sniper movie, but only a marginal war movie. The sets are incredible and the scale is epic. This film is less cheesey than 'Saving Private Ryan' but is still fairly campy in places. I would call it a great rental.

Say It Isn't So Heather Graham, Chris Klein Two people fall in love, only to find out they're brother and sister. Although this movie has Graham for the guys and Klein for the ladies, this movie pretty much sucks. It has some good jokes at points, but I often found myself thinking of my own jokes in the slow parts. This movie is 'There's Something About Mary's less funny, retarded cousin.

Tomcats Jerry O'Connell, Shannon Elizabeth A starving artist must marry off his friend in order to win $500,000. Even though I saw it in a theatre with only seven or eight other people, it was still very funny and very creative. It's another attempt to spin off of the success of 'American Pie', and although not as funny, an excellent attempt nonetheless. Also packed with hot chicks, which is important.

The Tailor of Panama Pierce Brosnan, Geoffrey Rush A failed British spy befriends a Panamanian tailor and intrugue ensues. This film was slow from the beginning and didn't get much better. The plot was sort of good, but the script did not make it work. The acting was average, but believable and the locations are picturesque. Although I wasted my time on this film, I recommend you don't.
