The best thing to do when telling someone of prophecies i guess is to show them the ones that have come true (by which we will know they're of God).

Yes, everyone does seem to have their own ideas on unfulfilled prophecies. So how do we know who is right?
First, ALL the prophecies are true whether they have been fulfilled or not. It is OUR INTERPRETATION which may be at fault, and probably is. The only safeguard as I see it, is to place our interpretation against the WHOLE pattern and then we may see more clearly. What is the whole pattern? That is the sanctuary service, for it covers all the spiritual realm from the Garden of Eden to eternity.
It is only as we lay our ideas against the laws of the ceremonies that we will find safety. This is why it is written as Gods last words to us in the Old Testament:-
Malachi 4:4
REMEMBER you the law of Moses My servant, which I commanded to him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments [the explanations].
However, the image of Daniel chapter 2 is a good example of a nearly-fulfilled prophecy which also gives us a solid base.

I need to volunteer my time to His greatest commandment LOVE and put the rest aside for now. If i had all the wisdom and knowledge and truth in the world and have not LOVE i'm worthless. And it's what i need to work on.

But you do have that! Love, I mean. For when Christ dwells in you then He who is love is in you and you partake of His character. All you have to do is use it. Thus it is written:-
1 Peter 1:22-23
Seeing you have purified your souls IN OBEYING THE TRUTH through the Spirit TO unfeigned love of the brothers and sisters, see that you love one another with a pure heart fervently: being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which lives and abides for ever.
1 John 3:14
We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brothers and sisters. He that loves not his brother abides in death.
Therefore, as far as missionary groups or ministries are concerned I would suggest that you not plan for yourself, or ask others, but plead with the Spirit of God to lead you to where you can do the most good. He is the only One who knows whats best for you. So fully was the Son of God in tune with His Fathers wishes that He made no plans for Himself at all. As a missionary He woke morning by morning and was told what to do that day. Sure, He knew the general pattern of His day and He even knew some high points well in advance through the sanctuary service, but basically He relied on the Spirits advice (judgments) day by day.
He says of Himself:-
Isaiah 50:4-5
The Lord GOD has given Me the tongue of the learned [He has taught Me], that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary. He wakens [Me] morning by morning, He wakens My ear to hear as the learned.
The Lord GOD has opened My ear [instructed Me], and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back.
John 5:19-20
Then answered Jesus and said to them, "Verily, verily, I say to you, The Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do: for what things soever He does, these also the Son does likewise. For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that Himself does: and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel."
As for my affiliation. I am a Seventh-day Adventist, but a NonConformist one! Like the Galilaeans that Jesus mixed with. John 4:45; Matthew 4:12-17. That simply means that I think my own thoughts under God and regard the church as a means of sharing spiritual truths and not something that I should be obedient to. That kinda puts me at odds with most SDAs, especially the leaders, because they seem to like members who are obedient and unquestioning.
So, whats new? The "church" has always been like that since its "teenage" years. God found it bleeding and half dead in a field and raised it to maturity, but it has since repaid Him with many despicable ways. But He still loves her and will never give her up. He intends to show that His love will bring about the public change which is needed to finish the work. Try reading Ezekiel 16 sometime. Heres a link to my version of that chapter if you are interested.
It also means that I see many of the doctrines of the church as only half-developed because we were supposed to have finished the work many years ago, soon after 1844. So one of my jobs under God is to question what we believe and "run to and fro" to find out the greater depths of Sabbath "rest" etc. Then I share with others what God has shown me. Thats what it seems to say in the prophecy.
Revelation 10:11
And he [the angel] said to me [John], "You must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings."
Got to go now,
Will get back to you another time.

To the reader,
If there is anything not clear to you as you read my answer, please feel free to mail me and ask about it. I promise not to send you anything but a direct answer to your question. I won't argue about it, just share with you what I have seen.
I won't ask you to join a new church or offshoot either!
