Commandments answered

Dear truthseeker,

You wrote:-

**********************

What are you talking about when you keep mentioning the ten commandments being seen in the sky? Is that Biblical? i never heard of it before. . .

**********************

When I mentioned the Ten Commandments appearing in the sky, that was based on Revelation 11:19, in which, in the context of the period at the end of the seven last plagues, John mentions that the temple in heaven was opened and he was directed to the ark of God which contains them.

Also the psalmist describes them as being in the sky, while Hebrews 12:25-29 tells us that God the Father will announce them as they were spoken at Sinai.

Psalm 50:3-6

Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before Him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about Him. He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that He may judge His people.

"Gather My saints together to Me; those that have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice." And the heavens shall declare His righteousness: for God is judge Himself. Selah [This word tells me that I should stop and think prayerfully on what the words before it mean.].

I thought that I had covered this in another mail, sorry about that. But it does seem that not many have taken notice of the importance of the Commandments in the last day events.

Your question:

**********************

What are the seven heads really (and be short) also, what then are the 7 kings? . . . . 5 have fallen, one is, and one is yet to come. . .

**********************

What are the seven heads?

In short: The seven controllers of the world since Daniel's time, not before. They are also the "kings" when they wear their crowns.

The first five have been Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, pagan Rome, papal Rome (which received a wound which should have killed it around 1517 - the rise of Protestantism) but which God says she will recover from soon because they failed to carry on. It is written of them and their works that "you have a name that you live, and are dead." Revelation 3:1.

The sixth "king/head" is the one we live under right now. This is a veritable absence of religion called "materialism", the love of money. This will change as things deteriorate in world affairs, but in the meantime it is Satan's prime instrument to help in setting up a one-world system.

The seventh king/head, which will be the united Protestants of the USA and then the world, is said to exist only for "a short space [of time]". It will soon give way to the eighth head (the image of the beast) which will be all the united religions of the world all enforcing their religious law in full force.

I like your thought quoted below.

4) Satan was cunning enough to substitute the Sabbath for "The Lord's Day", taking away its significance and exchanging it for Sunday, the day set aside by the pagans for worshipping the sun. Is it not impossible that he could do the very same to the Name he hates and loathes more than the day set aside for rest? ! ! !

Thanks for all that information regarding the use of Yahweh as the name of God. It was good to read the Wycliffe Bible Encyclopaedia on it. Normally, I am no fan of Encyclopaedias for Bible topics for they usually give us only a man's point of view, and, as one of my favourite quotes says,

Let us not forget that it is from the very words of the Bible that one is to learn. All the real help that any teacher can be to any one in the study of the Bible is to show him how to fix his mind more clearly upon the exact words of the sacred text. Therefore, first of all, read the text over many times. Do not do this hastily, but carefully, paying particular attention to every statement.

Do not waste one moment in speculating as to the possible meaning of the text. There is nothing worse than guessing the meaning of a text of Scripture, unless it is the acceptance of somebody else's guess.

Nobody can know any more of the Bible than the Bible itself tells; and the Bible is just as ready to tell its story to one person as to another. Question the text closely. Probe it again and again, always in a reverent, prayerful spirit, to make it reveal itself.

Do not be discouraged if you do not at once see all that there is in the text. Remember that it is the word of God, and that it is infinite in its depth, and that you can never exhaust it. When you come across a difficult statement, go back and consider it in connection with what precedes. Do not think that you can ever get at the full meaning of any text apart from its connection.

By constant application to the words of the text, in order to be sure that you know exactly what it says, you will soon have them constantly in your mind; and it is then that you will begin to reap some of the rich fruits of Bible study; for at unexpected times new light will flash from them, and through them from other scriptures as you read.

I do like the way in which you have combined the 7th day substitution with the replacing of God's name. There is definitely a correlation there. And like you, I think we should draw attention to the change.

There is only one thing I would like to mention. The Person who created the world and who has often appeared to people in the Old Testament is the Son of God. The Father has never been seen by any man. It is written:-

John 1:18

No man has seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared [shown] Him.

Therefore it was the Son who gave the Ten Commandments on the tablets to Moses and had lunch with the elders. Exodus 24:9-11.

Isaiah 42:5

Thus says God the LORD, He that created the heavens, and stretched them out; He that spread forth the earth, and that which comes out of it; He that gives breath to the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein...

Hebrews 1:1-2

God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, BY WHOM ALSO HE MADE THE WORLDS;

Colossians 1:13-17

[God the Father] Who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son: in whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins. Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: FOR BY HIM WERE ALL THINGS CREATED, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him: and He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.

So is He Yahweh? Or do they both share the same name?

Catch you later,

Ron
