One of the biggest Crazes of the 90s were Ty Beanie Babies.I firmly believe that their popularity was due to the fact that no matter who you were or what your favorite animal was there was a beanie for you. In a plush industry dominated by bears Ty gave those of us whose preferances in stuffies lie with other creatures a choice. This was certainly the case with me. When I first discovered beanie dogs at a collectible show held at the local mall I instantly fell in love. Say what you will about Ty,but their dogs have a definate charm about them. I soon found myself hunting all over town for my next Beanie dog fix. Each time I added another to my collection was a thrill. Beanie Babies are not nearly as popular now as they were in the 90s, but they are still being made. The newer ones don't have the same charm as the old,but they are still quite lovable. |
