| Welcome new and old members to 2008 Micro- Grommets. The main aim of the Micro-Groms is for young members to have a good time, learn and develop new skills and build their confidence in the surf. The sponsors for the senior club and micro-grommets is Surf Dive 'N' Ski (SDS).They supply the club with T-shirts for each member and competition rash shirts. Associate sponsor for the micrgroms is Veolia Water. Micro-Grommets meet once a month in the carpark opposite the kiosk at Gerroa, at 8am generally on the 2nd Sunday of the month. Sometimes this may change due to dates falling on Mothers Day, etc. When you arrive at the beach, make sure you sign on or you will miss out on inclusion. The sooner this is done, the sooner we can start. We generally have 11 heats so to make the comp run smoothly and finish at between 10.00 to 11.00am each month, we ask that parents help with wave assists. The idea is that microgroms prepares the kids for contest surfing later on, giving them grounding in heat structures, flag and siren identification. The fees for this year are $40.00 per child. $30.00 for 2nd, 3rd so on per family. This covers the insurance, club t-shirt, BBQ presentation & trophies. For safety reasons we rquire one parent or guardian of each child on the beach at each competition. If a surfer needs assistance catching waves, it is the parents responsibility to arrange this assistance. Surfers wishing to receive participation trophies at the presentation in December must attend at least 4 pointscores to be eligible. If you have any suggestion how to make the comp better, please feel free to let us know. Any ideas will be appreciated.
